Have You Ever Bought A Game You Couldn't Play?

Tooooo many times haha. Bought spore a long time ago right when it came out. I didn't really understand computers so I had no idea why it wasn't working. Found out later it was the video card but by that time I just had gotten a new computer.

LA Noire.

I got bioshock 1 for $10 retail, before I had a computer capable running it. I waited like 2-3 years before I eventually got a computer that could play it, and installed and beat it.

I also bought Black and white, amped myself up to play it for a week, and then found my computer was too weak to play it. Never actually played that stupid game.

Funny thing is that due to the horrible console development cycle, my current 3 year old laptop can play any current release moderately well (unless it's a crappy rockstar game).

Roughly 25% of my games won't run on my laptop - even source engine only gets about 12-20 fps. I've gotten by playing them on friends' computers where possible. Still haven't gotten to a large number of them though :/

I remmeber buying a helicopter sim called Hapache vs Havok, and there was NO WAY i could make it run on my old Voodoo 2, same thing with Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe (game ran slow as hell, couldnt make it run smooth). Nowadays the last concern i had was with the Witcher 2, which thankfully works wonderfully, aswell as Metro 2033.

They just don't run on my laptop.

I could run nothing on my old PC, but then I got my new one, and was running nearly everything on lowest. But now I have a Radeon 7750, so pretty o.o

Empire Total War, Battlefield 2... I knew I wouldn't play but Just bought. E:TW was for my collection. BF2 is for catching good deal. :)

gears of war,wouldn't run on windows 7 and i had to do a xp partition to run it -_- IT would run in windows 7 but crash to the desktop when the start up screen was about to come up .

Yep there's a few steam games which simply shouldn't be there as they are broken.

I bought Curse of the Monkey Island a long time ago and cd 1 was broken so I couldn't install it.

I also bought HL1 retail but the cd-key was already in use...
