Have You Ever Bought A Game You Couldn't Play?

The last one that couldn't run for me was Just Cause 2.

I had older games I couldn't play due to compatibility problems (Thief: Deadly Shadows, FF7), and some DRM related problems. One of the Tomb Raider demos didn't run due to DRM, and one phone game I bought once claimed it was a pirated copy.

The Witcher. But I got more RAM and it was fine.

Team Fortress 2 back in like 2008... It ran like 20 FPS at all lowest.

Bioshock 2, says I need to upgrade GFWL but the download starts and its just forever suspended like that left it on for a whole day and no change. Mass effect 1, but two loaded well enough

A lot of games, before I got my PC.
I had a laptop without a decent graphic-card and wasnt even able to play CoD4. But I keep on buying new games just for the future.
Now the fute is present and I have a nice job, a high-end PC and a great gaming-notebook for traveling and LAN-Partys.

Fable 1 - wouldn't get past the intro video on my old PC.
Assassins Creed Brotherhood - 1st time start it worked, after I closed it and tried again wouldn't even run.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace required 32MB RAM I had only 16 on my first pc.

Years ago: Civilization 3, the late game was horrible slow when the PC had to calculate all moves.

Mirror's Edge, HL2, Guild Wars and many more. Damn you gaming sickness.

Yea, those horrible excuses for Total War series games: Napoleonic Wars and Empires.

Ran at like 5fps on the campaign map and 20 in game.

Almost everything here doesn't work on my PC. I use my brother's PC for gaming now

Two times. First one was Everquest which I lacked the RAM for on my 110 MHZ Packard Bell. Upgrade solved that.

Later on I purchased the Journeyman Trilogy since I loved the first game. 2nd game in the series however refused to run completely on XP or 7. I forget the exact issue but it was pretty much a stone wall nothing could fix. I'm sure I'll dig it out sooner or later and get it working on a 95/98 VM.
