So, Bethesda's doing another Pre-E3 showcasing of their goodies.

I'm hoping for The Elder Scrolls: VI: Valenwood/Elsweyr/Black Marsh.
To be honest, even though I play as Argonians quite a bit, thus you'd think I'd want to see Black Marsh, I'd rather see Elsweyr done next. Just because I'd like the change to be drastic from Skyrim. Frozen mountains with dark, dank dungeons left behind as we go to the sunny deserts and tropical jungles.

To be honest any Elder Scrolls game will be fine by me, though I don't want it to be an MMO. I never got to play ESO but I've seen some people play it and I felt like it was just another mmo with an elderscrolls theme. Again, I haven't played it and will someday. I'd enjoy co-op too, as long as it's drop-in co-op and you can enable/disable it for when you want a friend to join you or want to play alone. I think borderlands did that but I can't recall. Though I'm totally fine with single player as it always has been.

Bethesda have said they have 3 large projects in the works. Legends comes out this year but.....Pleeeease let 6 come out, lol.

Seems the right time for another Elder Scrolls game. Also, if Leo DiCaprio can win.an Oscar, Valve can make Left 4 Dead 3 and Half Life 3! Don't let dreams be dreams!

I don't think another TES game will come for quite some time... We only just got Fallout 4. When it is revealed though, screw Valenwood/Elsweyr/Black Marsh! I want The Elder Scrolls VI: Akavir. Have you heard of that place? ...Or just how much they could do with it? It has so much potential, plus it just sounds epic: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Akavir_(Continent)

It's a pretty obscure part of TES and is only mentioned in a few books, but the place has influenced Tamriel's history/lore hugely.

"The history of Akavir mostly involves legends and tales of battles between armies of Akavir and Tamriel. A mythical story states that a great Nord warrior once traveled to Akavir and, with the help of a dragon, slew an army of Tsaesci." Straight away there's already an amazing opportunity for a story. :D

It puzzles me that there's a WHOLE fricking continent that's never been touched once in the history of the games. If they don't do one about it next, they have to do it in TES VII...

I'd be very surprised if they announced any TES game this year, with FO4 still in the making. They usually need 4-6 years to make a game (unless it is subcontracted: then the contractor has to do the same amount of work in 18 months), so I guess next TES will be in 2018 at best? Plus at least this way the few people who cared about the story will forget the lore enough so they can rewrite it yet again. :D

Oblivion was 2006 and Fallout 3 was 2008.
New Vegas was 2010 and Skyrim was 2011.
Online was 2014 and Fallout 4 was 2015.

I don't count online as part of the order but fallout and elderscrolls started to get into a pattern.

If you don't count ESO and use Fallout 4 as the guide, ESVI will be out this year or next. I wouldn't push it to '18

Neither New Vegas, nor ESO were made by Bethesda. FO3 is an odd one out because it is largely a reskinned expansion for Oblivion and it was also in the works for quite a few years before release. So far they seem to be in a 3-year pattern, unless they give up this ridiculous "small teams make way better large games" notion that is really starting to crack at every possible seam now, so this is why I expect TESVI in 2018.

2006 Oblivion
2008 Fallout 3
2011 Skyrim
2015 Fallout 4

2 years, 3 years, 4 years. Next one will be 5 years, so 2020
Skipping Fallout 3: 5 years, 4 years; next one will be in 5 years, so 2020

(pure conjecture, of course)

Hah! Good one.
On the other hand, 2020 could very much be a possibility. My 2018 prediction is more or less a "best case" scenario in my opinion.

This is the first time I see people wanting Bethesda to get any more old licenses…
But who knows, maybe we would get an open-world Duke Nukem where he has to get involved in a war between two races and chase around a missing relative who in the end will either be inconsequential in the story or will offer an A/B choice to resolve the entire storyline.

To be honest, I'd only trust bethesda/machinegames or flying wild hog to handle any of the reboots of old DOS FPS classics. At this rate every other attempt (DNF, Painkiller) have been ATROCIOUS. Wolfenstein and Shadow Warrior are labors of love (and SW2 looks like it's even better than the first, like they ACTUALLY LEARNED HOW TO IMPROVE). Sure, Bugsthesda does a lot of stupid shit, but you can't say their games are boring -- even Brink had a cool art style.

But hey, Duke is Duke. As long as he's shooting aliens and spouting clever offensive humour without quicktime events and copypasted combat sequences with some terrible driving filler thrown in...I'm sure it'll be a fun ride.

They do, but Randy Pitchford has very strange priorities. As in, steal a little (or, well, most) of the given budget of certain games to reallocate them to develop games they want to make. Although It's just my observation; I didn't even know about this studio until I heard about Borderlands 2.

Well, difficult to say their games are boring, because they make one in about 30 months. :D
If you mean as a publisher, I don't know: so far they seem to be very restrictive, but the developers so far delivered well. I am very worried about the Doom re-remake though, especially since it apparently will put a large focus on MP…
Plus, well, you know, the whole "greediest publisher in North America" aspect doesn't really put them in a nice perspective.

Idk Activision and EA are tops on my list of worst developers. And nah, gearbox butchered TWO games to fund Borderlands AND had the nerve to sell season passes for both. Not to mention they were sued for representing fabricated gameplay footage at E3 (see: Colonial Marines). They don't give a shit about Duke Nukem.

Also I dunno, I mean, yeah multiplayer is a big thing in Doom but they've been hyping snapmap quite a lot too and I hear there's a rumour about a bunch of remakes of old Doom 1 levels as DLC.

EA and Activision overcharge, sure, but at least they didn't expect to get paid for literally nothing (as in, 40% of the revenue of others' work).

They don't just overcharge. They add pay to win, rely on season passes, don't include enough content in the base game, "leave out" necessary features only to add them months later, churn out entries on an annual basis with increasingly less inspiration behind them, and have noticeable persistent and often game breaking bugs/server issues that keep popping up in different games. Also i'm a tad bitter about Activision favouring e-sports, which I think is a ridiculous concept that ruins games for people who don't want to sweat through their chairs when they play.

Well, reliance on season pass is universal, Bethesda does that too (the fifty-dollar FO4 Season Pass says hi, by the way). Bugs… we call it Bugthesda for over a decade for a reason. I think TES games still lead the largest amount of bugfixes made by the community instead of the developer. The other studios under seem to fare better in this regard. I have to add though, at least they don't seem to rush games out half-finished. That's a major positive.
As for Activision, I honestly don't know how they are still in business. I mean they have made so many bafflingly bad decisions over the decades and now they are so adamant on never entering any product in the cheap/budget category that I really wondre if any of their games besides CoD make any money.

COD makes too much money. And I bought the season pass when it cost 30 because I very much enjoyed it. But see, Bethesda's season passes contain more than a gun and four maps, one of which being a remake. To EA's credit, they did do that Battlefield 4 free DLC map pack to extend the game's lifespan. I guess Activision is way guiltier when it comes to trash season pass content. Not to mention supply drops, which are the best thing ever /sarcasm.

Well, so far this 50-dollar pack contains one new companion, some new stuff for the settlement, and one story DLC, so compared to the previous DLCs for their games, it's a step back (half the content, twice the price). We'll see how the story DLC will fare…

Anyway…
What I meant to say is that yes, Activision's season passes are a mystery to me. They are more or less simple map and maybe weapon packs. And they cost as much as entire story DLCs for other games.
In all honesty though, they are not the absolute kings in this regard. Payday 2 is.

It's only about half of it and so far I'm underwhelmed too but they've done good stuff in the past and they did double the price so I'm HOPING they've also doubled the content.

Also they stopped doing weapons in the season pass DLC. Now you buy basically mystery boxes for a slim chance at getting a new weapon, and most of the time these weapons are better than the base ones lmao

Activision has a few absolute cash cows, like Skylanders and Call of Duty. It's a numbers game for them. Release a gazillion games, hope for a handful of megahits, and milk those for all they're worth.

It's how movie studios, theater producers, and the music industry works. (as well as venture capital and penny stock investors).

That's why they won't make cheap/budget games. It's a lot less likely to generate a megastar series like Tony Hawk, Jedi Knight, or Guitar Hero.

Eh, it's not just about that. All large publishers do the same, regardless of where they are. I mean, just look at Capcom's portfolio…
What is irritating about Activision that they look like as if they treat everything as CoD. No sales, no large discounts, no budget packages, it has to sell the same with near full price or they don't care. And not even the worst, not even the money hoarder Bethesda does this, they at least know how to handle products that don't sell as hot. I mean, heck, just look at how good Capcom and EA got at pushing everything they have and achieve some financial success or at least a return investment in most games with some aftermarket treatment and well-designed sale events/bundles.

I can see business reasons for them not offering large discounts or budget packages. I don't know if it's the right call to make, but I can see the logic.

That being said, you're also wrong. Plenty of their games have been on sale both in the past and the present. As far as I can tell, the only games/series they haven't discounted heavily is CoD.

So a randomly and procedurally generated vast map of procedurally generated dungeons. I'm afraid that people would just call it a simple Diablo rip-off, first-person or no. Daggerfall was great in its time, but what it did is literally indie game level design nowadays. I don't know if Bethesda would be satisfied with something like that.
