This is truly horrible to read. My heart drops at the thought, I can't imagine what it is like. I don't pray but they will be in my thoughts and I wish I could also do more to help. It is devastating to watch this happen in the side lines and be so powerless.
It pains me that people entering your giveaway are not bumping. So, despite not entering I will bump and try to remember to keep bumping. :)

I saw this today on Facebook (posted by a friend), and it made me think of your brother.
I'm sad about what happened. So now what? Now we continue to be kind to our neighbors, friends, and of course, family. And, we reach a little further because it makes the world make more sense to do so. Donate to the displaced, help those in need...whomever you feel that is, however you feel that is. Is it time, is it food, is it water, is it a skill, is it space, is it money, is it blood? You know. Shouldn't we all have been doing this anyway all along? We now get a shake up and a wake up call.
.
Help how you can when you can. And if you think you can't, think again. No one is too busy or too important to at least hold a door, to smile, to make sure to always say thank you. And most of us, even we who may be a receiver of help, still have resources that we can share. It starts in the head and in the heart after all.
.
We owe it to our family and community and world to strive to be as healthy and able bodied as possible, as mentally ready as possible and as personally stable as we can muster while remaining prepared to move, flex, and flow as required so we can move through a viscous visceral situations like we have seen over the last several weeks with the least amount of drag because we never know when reaching out will be for a hand up or to lend a hand.
I hope your friends and family are well and healthy.

David Begnaud reporting directly from Ocean Park in San Juan, this is my brother's neighborhood-- I was literally walking on this street a few months ago. For perspective, this is one of the areas receiving the most aid.

Federal officials privately admit there is a massive shortage of meals in Puerto Rico three weeks after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.
Officials at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) say that the government and its partners are only providing 200,000 meals a day to meet the needs of more than 2 million people. That is a daily shortfall of between 1.8m and 5.8m meals.

“There is no urgency in the government response to this humanitarian crisis,” Andrés said. “They have all the officials and armed guards at headquarters, but they have no information about the island. They don’t even have a map they can share about who needs food. Fema is over-paying and it is under-delivering.”

So I was watching the national news this evening, and they were talking about the aftermath of Harvey in Texas and the wildfires in California, but nothing about Puerto Rico or any progress being made there. In fact, no mention of PR at all. Very disheartening.
I come to post that, and see that tweet from Trump. /facepalm
EDIT: I shouldn't have checked his twitter after reading your comment ... disgusting.

I don't think he (and most Americans) quite understands that PR is part of the US. Or it's just his racism showing.

A sales clerk standing behind the checkout counter explained that the store had been out of stock for three days.
“Ni una sola botellita?” Ms. Díaz pleaded in Spanish. “Not even one little bottle?”
The employee shook her head and apologized

My brother has been able to boil his water, he considers himself "super lucky" to have access to a generator. We have been raising a lot of money and buying generators and fuel, but it's still very hard to actually get the supplies to them.
