Alan Wake now down on 7 euros, but is it worth it.

I have tons of games and well my range of games goes a lot from RTS to indie to triple A games.

so my question is with the kind of games i play https://steamcommunity.com/id/zyddie << you can see there. Would Alan Wake be worth 7 euro ?

The game is pretty fun, but I found the ending to be weak and disappointing. Also, if you don't like Stephen King, you're going to have a bad time. The game plays and reads like it was developed by King himself.

Absolutely. Great gameplay, amazingly enticing story that will keep you on edge from start to finish, fantastic writing. It really is a game that shouldn't be missed.

Hmm depends really.

Ask yourself these questions:

Do you like scary(ish) games?

Do you like games with a good story behind them?

Do you like games split up into episodes?

Do you like playing in third person?

If you answer yes to all of these then I would say it's worth it :)

As long as you're not playing it for the combat, I'd say it's worth buying.

This game is worth every penny. I quite enjoyed it on console, before it came to PC, and hear it looks even better on PC, so it's got that going for it. The story is also amazing. The American Nightmare one is worth the money as well, also VERY fun.

My answer: YES
But the game is hard to nail down in a few words. If you like an interresting story with a very unique feel, this is a game for you. Gameplaywise I would compare it with Resident Evil 4.. its different, but thats the game wich comes closest. And if you enjoyed Max Payne not only for its Action, this will most definitly be the game for you! Its from the same guys as Max Payne 1&2 and you can feel Sam Lakes great storytelling. Furthermore, the game adds some things to the character of Max Payne.. they changed the name to "Alex Casey" in the game, but basicly, Alan Wake wrote Max Paines Story in his Novels and later refers to him quite often and draws some conclusion between himself and his fictional Character (Max/Alex). This goes very deep and you have to read between the lines to get the most out of it.

And another thing: You should take the complete-pack für 9€. I haven´t played American Nightmare yet, but for 2€ more this should be a no-brainer ^^ And you geht the collectors-edition extras, including the Book "The Alan Wake Files".. I have the printed version and it is a great extra, because it adds much value to the whole game-universe.. but you should only read it after finishing the game.

The game is absolutely brilliant, and it has a stellar PC port as well. Absolutely no reason to not get it for that price if ya have the money.

I originally bought it when it first came out on PC, mostly to support what I thought was a great company. Only recently got around to playing it and it's just absolutely brilliant so far, in the middle of chapter four. There isn't much variety in enemies, but it doesn't seem to matter to me. This game is all about the narrative and the atmosphere which are perfectly done IMO.
