Last week, I gave away a bunch of steam keys for various games. Most people at least sent me a "thanks" reply, which is great, and honestly MORE than I expect. I don't expect much from winners, and I don't even expect them to install their new game immediately and play it for 24 hours straight.

But one winner said to me: "these games are shitty....but I guess it's something."

If you don't want the goddamn game, don't enter the giveaway.

That really spoiled the whole giveaway experience for me. I'm not sure I want to contribute anymore. If everyone else is a rude leech, then maybe I will be one too. Like, you don't need to freaking worship me for giving you a game, but at least show some modicum of politeness. If this site is filled with 13 year old Xbox players who don't understand simple "please and thank you" niceties, then maybe I should give my games away elsewhere.

Sorry, I'm drinking and I'm ranting.

There will always be an ungrateful asshole. Maybe do contributor giveaways? I know those aren't jerk proof but it lessons some of the jerks?

As someone who recently discovered this site, I just wanna say THANK YOU. I, personally, have very little money to purchase games these days and it's because of contributors like you that myself and many others get to enjoy new gaming experiences. I haven't won anything yet, but I still appreciate each and every giveaway I participate in. I've even donated a game I had sitting in my spare inventory because I think this is a great idea to be a part of. Please don't get discouraged, not all of us are ungrateful pricks.

100% Agree.
Whether I win or not, I appreciate the CHANCE at getting something for nothing.

Hey bro I got a solution for you,

When you're doing a giveaway make the contributor value like $5 or $10, mostly only people without any contributor value just enter random giveaways, I don't think people that dumb would contribute to the site. Just my opinion

Like was said already, use contributor value and groups. Sadly, it's what it's come down to. There's a lot of good people that are only part of public giveaways, but there's a lot of assholes too.

If you can still ask for a reroll in a situation like that, you totally should.

But you shouldn't give up on gifting because of those assholes. They'll get what they deserve sooner or later. Meanwhile, black list them. Report them (if that will do anything) and let people know (in the few places you can call out people without breaking any rule) about them.

Do group/private giveaways.

Judging from your giveaways, most are all public and no contributor value assigned to them. Try doing group giveaways, private, or contributor value giveaways. You will get less rude, entitled, leeching idiots winning. I know how you feel though, I myself had to reroll a public giveaway 3 times, while most of my group/private giveaways went through fine.

Well, I've been taught that one's mistakes do not justify the other's. If there is a ridiculous guy, let him be ridiculous. There are a lot of good people in this website, so just ignore the crappy experiences :-)

I join giveaways for games I want and for games I don't want, if they dont have much people on it. But when I win I thank the gifter even too much, and I play the game till I finish or get tired of it. It's really sad for what happened, hope you don't have any future problems with that :|

The winners of my two giveaways haven't even started the games. I am disappoint.
I only enter giveaways for games that I want, because I'm not an ASSHOLE.

If they added it to their account, they will play it when they can. Some people have a ton of games on their list to play.

That's fairly unfair. There are quite a few games I have won but haven't played yet. I have such a huge backlog of games and playing CS:S competitively for many hours each and every day, I really find it difficult to find time for them. However, I will get round to playing them at some point. I'm not an arsehole, I just don't have as much time as I would like.
