I'm looking for a testsolver for the Louvre puzzles, which has turned into quite the event by itself. I have spent some 20 hours pouring over the collections of the Louvre and have puzzles involving everything from mathematical combinatorics, to (of course) art, with a fair bit of wordplay involved.. But the whole thing is a jewel box with puzzles that call puzzles, and I am concerned about getting the various bits together. If there is anyone who would be willing to test, please message me. Of course, that would preclude you from winning the giveaways in the Louvre puzzles (which at this point look like 14 games).

O___o
so you've put the derpy Constantine statue in York, but NOT York Minster?!
o___O
...also, you missed the Firth of Forth and Scone Palace (both far more important than the Audi momument thing.
Portmerion is in Wales, so yes, the UK, but... the statue is meaningless in comparison to Portmerion itself (might want to lookup The Prisoner - original 60s show).

I'm not familiar with all 250 landmarks in this event... I took a file of 250 landmark icons with the name only of each landmark and tried looking up and locating each and every one.
The landmarks I didn't choose but they were just the ones in the batch of icons I had.
I can make the adjustments as you advise. You might consider taking some that you are familiar with and creating a puzzle or tour like experience for us.
If you take Portmerion then you can make it all inclusive for the area not just one landmark.
Thanks for your help.

Are you taking suggestions for North America landmarks? :D
I'm from the greater Chicago area and noticed you have a lot of New York landmarks, but none around Chicago. There's Cloud Gate (more commonly called The Bean by locals), the Site of the Origin of the Chicago Fire of 1871. On a related vein, there's the Peshtigo Fire Museum--a little known fact that the Peshtigo fire was happening at the same time as the Chicago fire, but no one cared because it was Wisconsin. Less acreage burned, but more lives were lost. I actually have a distant relative who was
a survivor of the Peshtigo fire. :o

Tomorrow? Hm, I had it in my head. I will make the puzzles tomorrow then. I should have the time then :P Any information about the ending time of the giveaways? Shall they all end at the same time?
I checked and apparently I have time till 2nd week of November to do my stuff ^^ Still the question about the end date for the giveaways is probably interesting for everyone.

Oh, wow! you are planning ahead. I didn't even notice the year!
I haven't been to either of the landmarks, but I did a little research on the Blue Dome Church and have made 8 questions for an ITH quiz.
I'm a bit paranoid about making the giveaway and quiz this far in advance though, so I'll wait until closer to the time to put it on the site. Or, alternatively, I can send you the quiz if you prefer. Not sure how it's been done so far.

I'm not the organisator of this event it's Jeffhowe. He would be happy if you take this one I'm sure of it. Lets just wait his answer and see with him how to proceed.

Ah, this explains why I got a phantom message in my inbox.
I was very confused by one of the questions. Nothing I tried worked. It didn't even cross my mind to copy and paste as it didn't sound like a sentence one would speak after being asked the question. So after 10 minutes of grasping at straws, I tried copy paste method. I should've known better and done it sooner. Stupid overthinking.

Bump - Thank you for the giveaways and even more for organizing them into an event. It's remarkable to see it planned out over a year in advance, and I look forward to this as an ongoing community tradition.

A big thank you to Jeff and all the other guys who are organizing this project. I really have fun discovering curiosities and history behind some great monuments around Europe that I only partially knew. Can't wait to partecipate to Week 2's events!

Welcome to the first event planning thread for the Steamgifts Famous World Landmarks-- EUROPE Part 1!
Many may remember me saying how nice it would be if we as a group "toured" the world together in a large-scale event! Well we have 250 landmarks around the world to visit together and it will take a year and a half to finish our travels together. I've divided the 250 landmarks into the main continent areas and planned out a schedule as follows:
Looking for volunteers to:
CREATE PUZZLES:
DONATE TRAINS or individual GAs:
The success of the event depends on all of us joining in on the creation of it and also everyone solving the creation and experiencing the result together! THANKS ahead of time for your part! Note: HERE is an example of a previous puzzle event I helped put on that had creative volunteers that proved to be a big success!
So ready to pick one or 2 or 3 landmarks and get to creating?? Reply to this thread the landmark(s) that you are interested in taking.
