"Classic games for modern gamers"

What is GamePump?

GamePump is a monthly subscription service, that brings you classic games which are never before published on Steam. The games will be delivered every first Friday of the month by email. You will receive a key for a drm-free copy to redeem on GoG, or you could trade it in for a Steam version (once available).

JANUARY 06, 2017 - THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE DRM-FREE (GamePump got delayed)

How GamePump works

We partner with video game veterans of today and yesteryear to reclaim lost gaming artifacts.
Which is a really fancy way of saying, we revive classic game libraries from the proverbial basements of some of the top video game publishers in the world and help bring them to modern hardware.

The Games

Once the games will be dropped they will be added to the chart.

FAQ

Q: WHEN ARE THE GAMES RELEASED?
A: The first Friday of every month starting in January 2017.

Q: WHICH PLATFORMS ARE SUPPORTED?
A: We guarantee all games will be optimized for Windows PC. Some games will also support Mac and Linux.

Q: HOW WILL I DOWNLOAD THE GAMES?
A: Every month, you'll receive an email letting you know the new game has been unlocked. Soon, all subscribers will have user accounts which will automatically unlock their game. By default, you will receive a DRM-Free version of the game, however you can elect to instead receive a Steam key.

Q: WILL MY CREDIT CARD BE CHARGED MORE THAN ONCE?
A: Nope. This is a non-recurring subscription. You pay once and that's it. We don't store your credit card information and will never auto-renew. There is no need to cancel because once your subscription expires, it's done.

Has this been canceled? I bought like a month ago and just got email saying I will be refunded?

Weird, does it say anything else ? I was late to the party and only checked it out last week and was considering to subscribe given with the reduced 20$ price it didn't seem like such a huge gamble but then forgot about it.

I have no new information but I noticed that I can't find the purchase option anywhere on the site anymore...

Not very surprising. Publishing one game per month (even if they are "just" remakes) seemed challenging to say the least.
Damn... I wish I had subscribed last week when I still could.

Thanks for the link, I've updated the thread.

Sad to see it being canceled, although after the delay at the beginning of this month I became sceptical.

Well, I am glad I didn't cancel a few weeks back.

But, good for them to decide to proceed in this direction.

You wouldn't want to deal with a bunch of subscribers who felt ripped off.

Aw man, I wanted those subscriptions. I'm pretty sure I won't be getting 15 games for as cheap as $20. I spent the money to get a deal like that. Bah. Guess that is the end of my purchases from them, I'm not going to be interested in buying at full prices.

Got my refund but if I get 2 free games I'll be happy

Well, I'm okay since I will still get my two games out of it for free, but also curious to see what game Robert managed to secure the rights to publish, I would enjoy a lot some obscure PS2 j-rpgs and why not some Genesis/SNES beat 'n up. Hell, I would be up for even some old FPS titles, like Marathon or Spec Ops 2.

Oh yeah, I played them a bit but I would like to see something like Nightdive Studios did with the Turok re-release on Steam, with a level editor and workshop support and all that. Anyway, it's was cool to see that they put those games for free and if memory serves right, with a open sourcecode too.

Sad news, but I appreciate the information and the freebies. They handled it well, I think, which is more than I can say for more than a few places.

Random question, but why did you change your name and avatar? I couldn't recognize you

Heh...I changed my name to match my preferred name, which is also my Steam name. When I first signed up for SG I didn't realize that the user name I chose would be what was displayed in the community - I thought it was just a login.

The avatar...dunno, I was just bored and thinking about Rex the Runt. That's probably temporary. :)

I cancelled right after the delay and still got the email with the two keys now. That's really a nice gesture and I hope they'll manage to keep something up.

I never ended up getting the email with the game keys even though I was an early subscriber and even waites till THEY cancelled my subscription. I tries emailing them but no response so far.

Has anyone been experiencing this or have yet to recieve their keys?

If it helps you, I received the e-mail on February, 23rd. The subject (as stated in a comment above) was "[Steam Keys Inside] LIT and HAUNTED: Halloween '85". Have you checked your spam folder? What do you use as e-mail provider?

Hey devotee, thanks for responding. Yeah I checked my spam folder but as it automatically trashes messages after awhile, I'm worried I may have missed it. I'm using yahoo for my email provider.

Good luck contacting them, then... Like you suspect, I was thinking that maybe the e-mail went to the spam folder and it was automatically deleted (pruned) after some time (Gmail deletes spam messages after 30 days, IIRC). Some e-mail providers are pickier than others, and they might even reject messages instead of flagging them as spam (HotmailOutlook comes to mind).

I haven't received an E-mail either and it was not in my spam folder. But, if there was an option, I would have told them I preferred GoG keys, and given the games have not yet been released there, I'm assuming I may get them then.

Yup, no email yet either. I wasn't an earlier subscriber.

Just to throw another data point for you, my email was also received Feb 23rd.

It went to my paypal email address, which I believe is the email that I'd signed up with, but I had also requested and confirmed with them (as their site had indicated that you could) that key deliveries would be made to a different email address.

The key email was sent by Mr. Lenway, while my email change was confirmed by Mr. Bowling himself.
I know that you're not at all a random internet bully rude person, so if you like, I can pass both of those email addresses along to you -- you can drop me a line on gmail (you can guess the username), since I'll be away from Steam for a couple of days). So far Gamepump's been a good outfit, even if they overestimated their abilities -- hopefully everyone will still get their keys!

I submitted a request on their contact form on the website and got the keys a day later.
