EA certainly isn't going to give up on Origin at this point.

Well it's not Valve's call, until EA clearly allows it then Valve can't and won't do shit about it. Also a petition against Origin won't work either because EA just doesn't care who and how many hate them or not. It's not that simple.

I would you anyone shut down something that still turns a profit?

EA will ditch Origin and transfer everything to Uplay just to spite us.

These Clients have some "exclusive games" that removed from steam or never released on Steam.
I like it, if i have all games in 1. I hate the stupid system of Uplay more than Origin, but my Origin acc is only a "on the house account" :D
GOG have soooooooo many awesome classics. (These not on Steam :/)

And the price difference between Steam and Origin/Uplay is so sick too.
Example
Watch Dogs complete - Steam: 22$ / Uplay: 2$ in Keystore
The same with Sims 3 Late Night: Origin 1$ - Steam: 13$

And i wish so many classics to Steam like
Uplay: old Rayman or Sims 8 in 1, Shawn White Skateboarding (it's a cool EA Skate alternate for PC)
Origin: Unravel, all Classic Command & Conquer games!!!!!!!!!!!!!! etc ...Battlefield 3-4 i don't care
GOG has a great system, but i want these classics on Steam too.^^

The thing is, i don't want to start 4 Clients, just because these have 1-5 exclusives!

Lol. EA aren't going to close Origin just because you don't like it.

EA has always made it their business to control every aspect of distribution, and in the past that was very profitable. They don't want to give it up, and will force Origin on us to do so. They have enough big in-house titles that they can do it. Just be grateful they haven't pulled all their other games out of Steam yet (they will).

I have zero problems with Origin, plus there need to be options other than Steam. Total monopoly = bad for consumers.

You should fix your writing. Anyway, why exactly is Origin stupid in your opinion?

  1. The Sims 1
    • it's 16 years old by now, older than both Steam and Origin, so they probably didn't bother making it available digitally
  2. The Sims 2
    • it was available on Origin, but not anymore... maybe they're trying to direct new customers towards the newer ones?
  3. The Sims 3
    • this is still available on Steam, but they'll probably pull it when their deal expire
  4. The Sims 4
    • it'll forever be an Origin exclusive, just like any other game they'll release from now on

Think of Origin, uPlay, Battle.net and GOG.com not just as Steam competitors, but as the first line of defence against a possible Valve monopoly.
If Steam was the only gaming platform out there, the advantage of a unified digital game library would be overshadowed by absurdly high prices.
