Back from a weekend in Prague with my wife and my parents, celebrating my mom's 60th birthday. Let me tell you, that city has some fantastic and gorgeous architecture. All the buildings are full of details, handmade carvings and paintings. There's a lot of public art and you can't throw a stone in any direction without hitting something worth looking at.

So since I'm back from my travels, here's a choo-choo.

Here's the most random thing I saw, yellow penguins on parade at the river side. What are your most random art discoveries?

I've only just recently heard of Prague, as a friend of mine mentioned it in a conversation as the one place she'd like to go to if she had to choose, and from there I searched it up and became interested. :) Hope you had a good time during your visit! Was it fun? :D

PS, for the random art discoveries: There's a lot of strange street art in cities here, and they're mostly just weird, but some of them are actually really good. :3

Was a lot of fun. Well worth the trip, and I'd recommend anyone that is looking to travel to give it a thought just for the cozy atmosphere. The old town can feel a bit like Venice without the canals.

Unfortunately not, but I'd love to visit it every year.
By the way, my favorite place with czech food and beer: [map].

We stayed at Perla Hotel, and mostly walked around Old Town.

I can recommend Kaverna Adria, it had a lovely terrace, and despite being quite central barely no visitors. It was a bit hard to see that there even was a place there, and you had to walk up to stairs inside an almost deserted art gallery to find it. Good food though.

Too bad all this seems to mundane after you live here for 25+ years. But I guess people living in Paris or Venice or anywhere really feel the same.

I kind of hated Paris. I thought the place would feel more alive and that the culture would flow through the buildings like in Rome, but it felt a lot like Stockholm, which I lived in for a few years before moving away to a smaller town. It's just gray and cold (not the temperature, but just the feeling of the place). It's one of the cities I really doubt I'll revisit, unless it's to go to Eurodisney with future kids.

I'm often stuck waiting for a long freight train to pass and enjoy seeing the graffiti art that sometimes rides the train :)
