Edit: Holy crap, over 16,000 negative reviews now.

store link

The game got 2,000+ negative reviews mostly dealing with crashes and performance problems.
I don't remember seeing so much hate since Batman and Just Cause 3.

But for some reason for no man's sky I feel bad because its a small team and seems like they've been through alot of legal hell and general other development roadbumps before release.

It makes me a little sad seeing so much hate for performance issues, those can (hopefully) be fixed rather quickly.

Like, come on angry mob, give the little space guy a chance D:

Do you think its fair slamming a game into the ground not even an hour after release for performance issues rather than game content?

Is it fair to slam a game like that mere hours after release?

Not really but at the same time they should have read the crowd better, particularly how fickle and prone to fits they are.

Though I also think they should have gradually moved things up as opposed to taking a flying leap into the AAA realm.

And this might result in some devs not even bothering with PCs if they ever see such responses.

GAFer is data mining through No Man's Sky (PC)
PS: Big surprise, no mentions of Multiplayer could be found so far in any of the files or folders.

700k copies sold on Steam, according to Steamspy
http://steamspy.com/app/275850

It should be up to date now 3 full days after release. Sold more than some AAA games

700k sold.... how many refunds?
never planned to buy it but from what I see in let's plays and reviews, it's a farmville, if you will, in "space". Ships even land and dock on their own.

this can be a valid point. From what I experienced so far after finally getting it to work (writing a fixing script myself, still no fix for my issue from Hello Games themselves) the tutorial itself can be much longer than 2 hours depending on what planet you get. It took me slightly more than these 2 hours to get off the first planet because my planet had no Hardonium close to my landing zone at all, and Hardonium is required to fix the ship, so I had to travel long distance on foot. It was almost 2 hours before I managed to fix my ship and fly for the first time. Before you are able to actually experience what the game has to offeer you will most likely be long past the 2h refund timer. And it is the serious ssue, because at least for me as long as I was on planet surface gameplay was maybe not smooth but playable. But flying a ship is so horrible that IO cannot even fully express it. But you get idea how bad it is only after the 2 hours ;p

that's not really true. at least not for everyone. for me it was less than 30 minutes, i think. i don't believe they did anything on purpose to prevent refunds. the more reasonable explanation is the obvious one - it's procedurally generated. so for one player it's easy to repair the ship, for another one it takes a while.

oh no, don't get me wrong - I'm not saying they did it on purpose, I'm just saying that because of the nature of the game quite a lot of people can exceed 30min limit before they even get a glimpse of full experience, get dissapointed and would like a refund ;) It's surely not done on purpose, it's just a flaw of refund system itself I believe - some games can be beaten in less than 2 hours, while in others 2h is not even enough to touch the surface of the game (and not only NMS - look at any MMO for example ;p). Having the same 2h limit for a short walking-simulator experience which can be finished in 1.5h and for a game where you will spend 10h in tutorial alone (again, some MMOs ;p) is not really a fair system both ways, but it has nothing to do with NMS devs. I do criticize them for many things, but not that, it was clearly not their intention to cheat refund system, but with current refund system some people may feel cheated, even if it was unintentional :>

3h in the game and after exploring 30 planets i think its a big chance for the little space guy dont you think ? ;) i mean the concept of the game is great exploring the universe and stuff but with no plot any game becomes boring and people will talk shit about it

Don't sell your product for 60$ if your product is just not worth that much. That just makes this "indie" developer team seem greedy.
That being said I don't even feel sorry for them. And still there seem to be enough people that bought the game.

I enjoy it. It is exactly the type of game I hoped for. It was totally worth the $60. I think the hate is deserved and it isn't. It is a bummer that they didn't follow through with things they said like having multiplayer (but idc. I didn't want it anyways) and the performance is a problem (but not for me) but on the other hand it is getting hurt by the mob mentality. Just because a person or group of people do not like something doesn't mean it is bad for everyone
