seems like an appropriate thread to point out that people who work with different number bases sometimes confuse halloween and christmas because 31 oct == 25 dec.

In my country, there's no costumes for it, no trick or treat, no pumpkin carving, nothing like that. instead they go to cemetery to visit their dead family members, light candles throughout the occasion. serve some food, and pray. we don't call it Halloween, if the translate the words, it would be "the day of the dead". is that weird?

Yeah, there is more to it as Halloween has also been influenced by other traditions but day of the dead is one of the roots for what Halloween has come to be. Do you mind me asking where you're from? I would guess you're from Mexico just because you said the translation is day of the dead but I could very well be wrong :)
