Not giving them money because of what they did with the bait-n-switch in the past.

What happened?

from a quick search all the steam gifts threads about it have been removed
BUY X game and get Y game for free
they later removed the game from a bunch of peoples accounts who had paid for it by buying the 1st game
came up with some bs reply of we are sorry guys best we can do is a sale
so they did a shitty % sale of like 60% off if you already owned the other game or some bs
people were still mad and some time later everybody got the game back.
no idea what happened to people who paid for the game on sale
i dont trust those devs at all

It's also fun that the demos they put out were basically the whole game. Only real addition being a 2 minute street segment in the Scarlet section of the game. As someone who played them and watched a playthrough to see the changes.

They reuse the same scenarios but the story and even the puzzles are different. The demos are canon prequels. The final game is way longer.

Youre talking about Agony Unrated and that was steam doing, they put the game as low as they could being a censored game 84 cents or so....

the devs lied to people and changed what they said a few times
in the end they gave it back to everybody for free who had owned it before
but they did get a ton of people to buy it.....

Youre mistaken they finally gave it at DLC after the critics but they couldt not give the standalone game, for me not the ideal solution as the game was a separate entry for starters. These are different devs anyway...

wow they have scrubbed almost everything about the event from both games
banned tons of reviews
deleted the news when they said it would be free
cleaned out both games discussions
steam gives game devs far to much power....
why you cant trust any of the % of steam reviews, and i always check the negatives. even that can still be altered by deleting a ton of negative.
over the years every major solid review website has altered reviews of things
i go for the smaller more trustworthy ones

I believe there was a time when there was a somewhat higher discount, but... I don't think I'll ever buy it, since it would send a bad message towards developers who practice this kind of attitude - which is making another (German/cut) version of their game, using it to promote the uncut version.

No thanks, as a matter of fact I'll try to avoid the products of this developer in the future, same approach I practice towards Bethesda considering their user-hostile attitude (not that it's hard or anything, they don't really make good games anyway :))

your approach doesn't work so well with bethesda since they are owned currently by microsoft who also own obsidian and many other companies

It works for me: I'm only picky about Bethesda. Maybe that's how Microsoft managed to buy them - because their PR & marketing team lacked manners + they couldn't make good games anymore :/

since when don't the make good games since some random nobody on the internet says so - guess they should all give up and quit then

Since when can one person make a difference regarding environmental pollution? Why should I even care? It's the big companies anyway...

Obsidian is owned by microsoft and I wouldn't call Outer Worlds or Ground great games either, but I'm also not a shill for obsidian's non isometric rpgs

I was only talking about Bethesda and their hostile attitude towards consumers.

last I checked that purchase went through also starfield was at the xbox showcase and is gonna have exclusivity on xbox & pc due to bethesda being owned by microsoft. I think you're thinking of the planned purchase of activision-blizzard

Playing the long game kinda paid off? Got the M edition in a bundle but never cared to play it, this makes 'upgrading' it about $2 in my region. Cheers.

just a quick remind. this is one of those developers who likes to revoke your access to their shit for whatever reason.

Deal no longer as sweet. They removed the discount from the game. Guess I sat on it too long!
