Mysterious cards dropping.

Normal people who don't want to waste money on cards are punished, but what about these who crafted all/most of the bades? they can't get any mystery cards and need to buy them ? LOL, this is stupid for now .....

people got punished for getting card drops early before foils were given to everyone

let's just say that you don't expect good things being an early adopter. early adopters are guinea pigs. they're there to be screwed over. the trick is to keep yourself from being a late adopter.

As much as I want this to happen, it won't. Instead of mysterious cards we were given coupons (none of which I used, but still).

a mysterious card currently goes for around $1 (removing market fees). a badge usually costs >$1 even if you have half the cards. if you just want the card, i think it'll be cheaper just to straight-out buy one... or hold out until someone lists one on the cheap and buy that.

assuming you don't care about 100exp or the other drops, that is.

It's not different from other trading cards. For HL2 cards for example, you pay a 10% HL2 fee.

I find it very clever, someone on steamdb mentioned they added a new game with the title "Mysterious" tied to these cards.

The fees themselves are thus associated with this "Mysterious" game.

The cards you get are random, so dup card drops are pretty common

This would be not so good, full set can cost ~10$, while you can get Fortix or some cheap game, while you could get some dlc's on Summer 2011 and games at Winter sale 2011

I sincerely doubt that's what's going to happen. Given Valve's more recent history with their giveaways, chances are high that mystery cards will simply unlock an unstackable coupon or something similarly useless. Most likely the mystery cards will probably morph into regular trading cards once the Summer Seal starts.

I'm not expecting much charity from Valve this year -- it seems they're just getting greedier with each new sale.
