Do you say thank you to giveaway creators?

When I win ;)

I never say thanks because it means nothing. I do thank the gifter if i win though.

I'm saying thank you, mostly only in my mind :p

I used to say thanks manually on every giveaway. Then I noticed 3 things.

1. Many people just use bot script to do this
2. Many contributors don't care or even complain if you leave "thanks"
3. Every giveaway has an extremely poor ratio of entries to thanks further enforcing that the community in general doesn't care

Why would I junk his mailbox with generic messages? Though it he will ask to post something in particular, then I will.

Boy, this thread and its poll options sure are biased! It kind of says something about the poll creator when the options clearly favor one side and condemns the other. That's one way to skew the results, I suppose. Anyway, I voted "No", but not "cuz I'm a bad person"; rather, it's because most of the time, it's rather pointless. I will only comment on a giveaway if I have something meaningful or worthwhile to say. Simply saying "thanks" does not qualify.

Didn't vote because none of the options fits me.

I don't care much for the meaningless, auto-scripted "thanks" when I create a giveaway, but I expect the winner to thank me somehow. (that did not happen twice 3 times so far)

When I'm entering GA's, I try to come up with a little something. Especially if it's a private GA or if it's for a game I've been wanting to have for a long time. But I'm not puurrrfect (tee hee) and yeah, sometimes I'll just enter without saying anything. That being said, I ALWAYS thank the gifter when I win. (that too, happened twice so far :D)

No. But that doesn't make me a bad person. Most GAs are for levels not by people who want appreciation. It is quite rude of you to be calling people who understand why most people are doing their giveaways "bad people".

I'm always thankful for the opportunity the giveaway creator is giving me so I will usually thank them for the chance. (I skip a few thanks here and there when I'm in a hurry)

On group/private giveaways I will usually try to write something more thoughtful than a simple "thank you", especially if the creator has spent the time to write a good description or even ask a question.

I used to say thanks, but it does seem kinda useless when everyone is just spamming it. So, I'll read the description and reply to something there. If nothing's there, whatever. If I'm bored I'll comment on something random like the user's name or avatar.

I say thanks because I have good manners and wasn't raised in a barn! (no offense to those who were raised in a barn, being from a barn can make you pretty great...my dinner was raised in a barn and it was great).

I say thanks when it's a game I really want or something that isn't bundled or cheap. If the description has questions or comments I respond to that. On my giveaways I've had long rambling descriptions with questions and for the last one a little over 2/3 of the comments (yes, I counted) were just thanks. 95% of the people don't bother reading (checked that one too (although I am assuming 95% didn't read but I'd guess a good many read part of my ramblings and didn't care enough to comment)) the description anyway. Honestly on my few giveaways I didn't care if someone said thanks. If they want to say thanks because they want to acknowledge my massive generosity, that is cool. Or if they are doing because they have a script, that's cool too. So basically I just used a lot of words most of which didn't really answer your question.

Should have gone with my original idea for this comment and just wrote "Thanks!"

Public ones with less than 10 comments.
Public ones that request thanks.

I don't say thanks in the massive public ones that have tons of comments already as I feel like it'll just become meaningless and lost in the flood.

But when it comes down to it, the whole "thanks" culture on this site is really twisted. Some people call it spam, say it's annoying; others say they'll blacklist you if you don't say thanks.... I mean you can't possibly win. You're pissing off SOMEONE no matter what you do. So I suggest you just leave people to do what they do and stop judging over a petty difference in opinion.

Sometimes. If I see it has 0 comments I make sure to leave a comment, otherwise its pretty random.

No I just fondle their hair gently while they sleep.

I say my thanks by entering the givaway, cuz all the thanks comments are useless
