Do you say thank you to giveaway creators?

I say something along the lines of "+1, not in" on GOG giveaways. In the rare cases where I comment on SG giveaways, I post "thanks" only if the giver specifically forbade it. Otherwise I post some other praise or joke comment.

your oppinions =/= everyone's, judging someone if they say thanks or not doesn't mean they're bad people, you're just too high on your pedestal there, i suggest you get down because you're not better than anyone. also, as have other people said, saying "thank you" is against some giveawayer's likings

Posting or not posting comments in general is neither good or bad. Situation depends on the creator of the giveaway and different people have different tastes. That being said, I personally find it rude when the winner does not thank the gifter at all. My concept of proper manners is that one shows appreciation for the gift received. If it was not desired, then why did you enter for it anyway? Such behauviour seems to be quite common in public giveaways, which is one of the reasons I avoid creating public giveaways.

I personally place a thank you note for every giveaway I enter, each having slightly different content based on creator, gift or giveaway.

If there is less then one page of comments - I say thanks in most cases. Of course, if there is no message from giveaway creator saying "don't say thanks". Because someone must say thanks for this kind man!
If there is more then one page of comments, and no message from creator on top - I don't say thanks in most cases. If there is a message from creator - I do depending on it's contents. Because too many new messages is not good. And I can say thanks if I win anyway.
And I say thanks in private giveaways, disregard of how much comments there, unless creator asked not to. Because private giveaways is something special.

I think it would be nice if people were more polite towards each other, both in reality and on the internet.

The winning option in this poll ("I don't bother saying/it's faster") shows how selfish and arrogant we humans really are, and it's quite frankly sad.
It's like all those people just couldn't care less. They just want their damned game already, manners be damned...

i dont post a thanks in the thread but alway say thanks by email or on steam.

I say thanks if I win. Otherwise I'd have close to 20000 comments.

I say "thank you" when I win, which never happens, so no, why bother...

I say it because I appreciate people doing giveaways but I would prefer not doing it at all but I don't want to piss people off by not saying it but some people don't like it when you do say it so it's very confusing on what people SHOULD do.

People copy-pasting the same "thank you" message in every giveaway rings hollow to me.

Yah I say it.... After I win the giveaway. And I agree with the others. If I were the one who did the giveaway I would really hate it for my inbox to be spammed with empty thanks comments and I'd just prefer to put them on mute.

If there's only ~3 responses, yes, but otherwise I feel like I'm spamming their inbox so not always. I feel like a plain 'thanks' is like a 'voted' comment on greenlight, so unless I have something interesting to say I try not to do the same thing 20 others are doing.

For example, sometimes people advertise a new project (music, website, stream, etc), I tell them "thanks, good luck with your band" or whatever, but I don't really want to give them another red notification without a better reason than just a '"thx".
