IIRC It used to give discounts for some services aside from Reddit (as a form of partnership with some companies), but it doesn't do that anymore so... I don't think it's too useful at the moment.
The only thing I could want from these is the removal of ads, but... I might leave them on just because I want to support the website :P

Alien Blue? It wasn't available on Android. It seems that they are "rebuilding" it to be better optimized and "modern" (after they bought it). Yes it was. I think they restructured it based on Alien Blue. But since it was a user's application, the developer was looking at users' side and see what is good and bad. And I think they removed a lot of useful features as well.
Well, doesn't matter for me anymore since I don't use iOS anymore. Even If I consider using it in the future, I still will be able to download it in the purchased section.

reddit gold is useless to me because of scripts which loads comments and expands all automatically.

Reddit is launching its official app, who will log during the first week will get 3 months of gold.
