Gaming can develop in an addiction if is not taken care of before is too late [just like drugs] (i.e. have frequent brakes, family/friends before games and so on).
Yes, Gaming Addiction exists, and yes it can be a big problem to some degree.
I'm also from Romania, good luck with your questionnaire and studies!

Greetings from Hungary. Completed your survey.
I haven't met anyone with gaming addiction yet but i think any kind of addiction could be harmful and severe.

Also from Hungary, I knew of a few people with gaming addictions. Didn't know them too well, so can't comment on the influence this addiction had, but from the outside, it seemed like the biggest issue was the lack of a social life.
I would have liked a "Not sure" option to a few of the later questions.

From the United States. I was addicted to reading manga and watching anime more than videogames, and that did make me lose sleep in college. Now it's more 50:50. Now I play games 7-14, sometime 20 hours a week. I also never play online MMORPGs. I got into one once and I couldn't stop. It was only after I saw my health deteriorating, that I was able to stop.
Having been a sickly child growing up, working on my health until I became at least normal took me years. Seeing myself lose what I worked so hard to obtain knocked me out of it. My favorite new hobby is finding friends to workout with and helping people get over their fear of public speaking in my Toastmasters International club.
Now I just stick to Single Player games and play to keep my mind sharp.

Hello from Venezuela! i just finished the survey.
Thankfully i don`t have this adiction, but if I know some friends who are on the verge of falling into it.

Anything can cause a psychological 'addiction', especially to certain personalities looking for a fix and/or escape.
Gaming addiction is not a big problem at all, not compared to things that are physically addictive.

Hello from Ukraine <3 Completed the survey.
I can't say I'm addicted but videogames stop me from meeting new people and having relationships. I'm just... not interested. It's not a big problem for me but you know, sometimes I think I'm losing something important. I feel like I'm still a child while others already have their own kids.

Russia here. Frankly, I don't know if I'm addicted or not. I mean, I do spend insane amount of time playing PC games; on the other hand, I'm unemployed, lonely and depressed and have literally nothing to do except for playing games, watching movies/series and reading books. I don't get irritated when I get distracted from playing (unless we are talking about a real piece of art like Disco Elysium or The Cat Lady, but games like this are very rare), I gladly spend time with actual alive people instead of playing and so on. But then again, insane hours.
Also, I have to say that the question about money spent is pretty useless because of regional prices.

I completed the Google survey from the US.
I don't know anyone with a gaming addiction but think it is a serious problem that is likely growing. It parallels gambling addictions in many ways.

It would have been nice to have a text box for additional information, for example with the question if I would be angry or uncomfortable if family or friends would take away my gaming device: Of course I would be but not because it would stop me from gaming but because I would see it as disrespectful to take something away without permission. I would feel the same way about my headphones or a book. However, I can imagine such a text field would make the analysis by software more difficult and it's impossible to cover everything without blowing up the scope.
Best of luck with your studies.

Hello, I completed the questionnaire 🙂 I liked it, except for the fact that some questions were difficult to answer with a 'yes' or 'no' (see SaturnArc's comment above). I think when you're in a bad place you can become addicted to anything that gives you short bursts of happiness, including videogames. However, in many cases this 'addiction' is just a symptom of more complex issues in someone's life.

I'm actually very interested in this study of yours but I think your questionnaire isn't very well-designed. Some of the comments have listed some pointers that I think you might want to take note of.
Also do you consider that gaming addiction is actually a big problem ? Yes
Do you know people that have gaming addiction ? Yes
What is your opinion about technology addiction( social media, gaming etc) ? Whether you call it "addiction" or "dependence"... well, it's becoming a prevalent part of modern society; a norm, and in a way, that's kind of scary and worrying.
Also, shouldn't the answers to the questionnaire be anonymous? Asking your participants to post their respective countries in a comment, especially if the country in question isn't exactly common on SG, is basically allowing you to link the data you've collected with the user/s on this site?

The test it showing all of them, I don;t need per individual at this moment since the question are simple . However i agree with your decision and i edit my post.
I saw the problem that some people put , at this moment the test that i give here it just the prototype.
I need to see what question people are putting, what it not working, what i need to chance and improve so the questionnaire will be ready for the group of people that I target.

Hello, from USA.
If anyone tries to take my computer away, you can be sure I will be angry, but not because of games. A PC is a multi-purpose tool; it is used for much more than gaming. I use mine for studies, research, communication, and coding, too.

I completed the questionnaire :D.
There is no horror genre as an option T_T.
Oh, and btw, in the question above if you prefer to play games instead of spend time with friends... I prefer to play games with friends (I usually stop what I am doing, even another game, if some friends asks me to play together), so I wasn't sure about what to answer.

Also do you consider that gaming addiction it actually a big problem ?
Yes, it is.
.
Do you know people that have gaming addiction ?
Yes, a friend of mine, she also has GAD.
What is your opinion about technology addiction ( social media, gaming etc)?
I wouldn't say the problem is in technology itself, but how it is applied, like these online games that offer daily bonuses:
Bear in mind that when I say "bonus" it means a freebie you would be awarded with little to no effort, so the benefits of continuosly levelling up / progressing wouldn't be a bonus, but a reward for hard work.
I'd like people to see that part of the stratagy and marketing are to blame instead of the whole game industry itself, video games have shaped me into the person I am today thanks to how I looked at them. I like to point out my favorite franchise, Shin Megami Tensei, that mostly every title from the series gives the player a chance to pick a side, Law (striving for order and peace, but sacrificing freedom and progress) and Chaos (striving for freedom and progress, but sacrificing order and peace) it may sound as a matter of choosing between good and evil, but in the end you realize that both sides have the good and evil part and the true ending comes when you reject / accept both sides. After this I usually question things I would never have questioned before.
Wow, I feel lighter after this wall of text, I should do this more often. Oh! By the way, I completed the questionaire and I'm from Brazil.
