That was interesting. It can definitely be a problem and hard to break free of. I often forget to eat during a long gaming session, and forget about sleep until the wee hours of the morning.

Completed it.

I wanted third option in some answers. I mostly fit in "sometimes" category instead of just yes or no. Last few years I almost only play single player games so I can be addicted to a good story, but same goes with TV shows and books. I just need to finish those without interruption, and then I can live without any of those for weeks. Or that means I am addicted anyway? :D

I finished the questionnaire. The questions are really good actually. I would like to see the results. I would be happy if you share us your findings. This is one of the biggest issues of today's world. Good job:)

Curious what conclusions you hypothesize you'll draw from this, if any. Also, most of the time, someone knocking at the door is very not important.

I just finished the questionnaire. I was an addict before, not anymore, so there is no option for me to tell that in the questionnaire. So the questions were a bit confusing to answer. From the questions i guess you were only looking for addicts so i don't know if my answers will help you or not. Good luck with your project. Have a nice day

Greetings from sunny Slovakia!

The questionnaire is simple, hopefully the data you collected will help you. Please try to utilise some reporting tools (Power BI, Tableu, or even Excel) and show us the results when you're happy with what you got :)

The question before the last one has a bug, if you answered the previous question to that as a NO, it still asks you to fill that one.

Cheers

Completed the survey! I do believe that gaming addiction is a problem, the same as any kind of addiction. It can cause desolation and petulance. Personally don't know anyone with severe gaming addiction. As a kid though, I used to waste a lot of time on a collecting cards game on my phone. The addiction was quite bad. Thankfully I noticed it and deleted the app immediately. Anytime I notice that a game is eating up my time way too much, I simply deinstall and move on with my life. Though I'm sure that for some this isn't as easy to do as it is for me.

Finished, I think it's really tough to answer the survey if you had game addiction but not anymore, it makes some of the answers conflict with each other, good luck on your studies!

Gaming was a good escape for me when I was younger. It started as entertainment, turned into addiction, then turned into an escame and now it's back to being entertainment luckily.

I procrastinate, a lot. The video games are not really at fault (except for when I was actually addicted), but it's more just me lacking any form of discipline. Now I've started using video games as a tool to learn other skills. Languages, video editing, audio editing, entertaining and so on. Not to even mention critical thinking towards media.

I think people like to wave away the notion of Gaming Disorders and so on. But often enough, those that turn a blind eye can also be the ones afflicted or ones who just worry that they might be afflicted. Just like many alcoholics call themselves social drinkers, gaming addicts can call it just entertainment, as if they had no other choices and so on.

Anyways, I finished the questionnaire. Good luck with what I'm guessing will be your Bachelor's thesis.

Done, good luck for your research :p

also:

Have you ever tried to reduce your time spent gaming, and failed?

This question should be divided into 2, or you should provide non ambiguous answers :p

Done.

I personally don't have any close friends with gaming addiction, although my former classmate's first wife struggled with it (basically that was the main reason for their divorce).
I suppose it's more of an issue among teenagers (I'm 35), because many parents nowadays totally neglect their children and basically encourage gaming addiction by giving them smartphones, tablets and consoles just so the children wouldn't bother them.

Also, hope everything's well in Romania. Thinking of visiting your country next year with my fiancee. :)

Hello from Turkey. Finished your survey and I wanted to add my perspective:

I play video games to escape from my problems in life and that affected my academic performance in the past. But I don't consider myself addicted to it. I mean when I couldn't play games to vent, I got hooked to books and to movies and serials later. Does that make me addicted to books or movies? I might be addicted to escapism though :D
