I always felt that the amount needed to enter should be at the same value as the game.

100 bucks or 1000 for a 60 dollar game, or even a 5 dollar game seems a bit steep at times. Then theres the insane 2000 dollars

Personally, i rather there be some limit or guideline on the amount needed to enter.

What do you guys think?

Should it stay the same or have more realistic limits in accordance with the actual game value.

NOT TRYING TO COMPLAIN!!!!

Just wondering how you guys feel.

You do remember that everyone gets points that attribute to 5% of all shared value? You are in no way losing out or even inconvenienced by contributor giveaways, because you cannot enter every single giveaway anyway.

Also, you should realise that people are giving away games from their own free will. Not the site management, or big corporations - people. Those people can choose to whom they wish to give their games.

You also so sound a bit ungrateful and whiny. You might not be. You might not have intended to. But you still do.

Finally, it's so very not okay to start a new thread on this subject once another thread with the same exact complaint received many pages worth of bashing. Go read that thread.

P. S. Your avatar creeps me out.

I didnt find any of those threads thats why i made this one.

I'm not ungrateful, but rather interested in how you guys feel. If you think thats how i sound, cant change your mind, but i have given games away before, just not much since i'm not rich.

From what i gather, i think it could be a cool feature to have a filter, so you can set it to see only those giveaways you qualify for. Either way, hope that cleared the air. You sound pretty angry at me. I am still grateful for the giveaways. Regardless of whether or not i can enter them

P.S the girl in the Avatar is Dodger and shes awesome!!!

As long as people give for FREE games bought with their own money, whiners have to deal with it and stfu.

I am not whining...its simply asking how you guys feel about it.

Besides, at least we learnt something, having a filter to only show games that you qualify for seems like a great idea.

Have a nice day! :)

Let it be i guess. In the end this changes nothing. The one thing I want to see on sg may not happen for a while and I think it's something we all need.

Yeah, lets see how it works out in the coming months.

Who knows, maybe we may see in increase in contributors. :)

Thanks for not jumping on my throat immediately like some have.

I would much rather see a huge jump in memes than giveaways honestly. I don't enter too many giveaways anyways.

i have made a giveaway, and thats not really the point though?
Still, i appreciate all the contributors work. Like i said in the OP, just wondering how others feel. This is in no way a flame thread, and of course, keep doing what youre doing

I sometimes feel sad if I see a game that needs alot of money to enter, but then again it is fair to others that gave away that same amount. ;)

people bitchig for the high limits, people bitchig for the leechers, people bitching for they win ratio, peoplbe bitching for the puzzles, people bitching for the "people bitching"... people bitching because potato...
the contributor giveaway idea is good, just like this site, the main idea es nice... but then people starts to act like people, and then starts the bitching... (yeah, i'm bitching too, save that comment for yourself)

people that make those give-ways can put the amout of money what they want, the "why" they are doing that, that's another thing..

Why shouldn't people who have gifted over a thousand dollars or so be rewarded? :|

I think the value system is little bit well.. bad in some ways. Doesnt really limit leechers or abusers, especially those 0,01 contributer giveaways. But I guess everyone should have a choise on their giveaway. However I feel it is a circlejerk system to put very high numbers as there arent many who can enter on such. Becoming closer to the way how some give games to their friends only in private to get their contributer value up.

I wish we had a system how we can limit contributers away though! Or atleast have an option to have non-contributers only giveaways.
I'm sure some will argue to make your own group and host it like that, but it is too much micromanagement for just one giveaway. Also not all have time for groups and such.

My only concerns are those that are cheating the system, ie. having 20 humble bundle giveaways listed on their account that they probably paid a cent each for, and got them into hundreds of dollars given away.
Still, people will always try and cheat and the mods are working on the system and I understand CG is planning a script that looks through accounts for unredeemed game wins which should trim the numbers of those breaking the rules.

As for your suggestion, I disagree. That effectively limits contributor giveaways to $60 as per the 60Pt maximum per giveaway, that's not a tremendously high bar imo.
People who giveaway more should have special perks IMO, as long as it doesn't turn into a pay to win site.
If someone has given away $2000 worth of games, then I have no problem with their having restricted access to giveaways that I don't.
They've given away close to 10X what I have, let them have those few extra giveaways. Besides, it's not like there are very many giveaways with such high totals so their hardly gaining much.
The vast majority of contributor giveaways seem to keep the required total relatively low, even a $100 would be enough to get you access to almost all of them.

I like it personally. The more you give the higher chance you have to get. It's a nice system, and I feel the people that contribute enough deserve a reward, or chance at one. Also, the creator of the giveaway should be able to do what he wants with the game, since he is nice enough to gift a game to a random person :D
