Finally! Thanks a lot cg.

It works perfectly.

Very nice. I see a problem, though - if you press "Mark as Read" it will mark NOT ONLY all the messages on the messages page, but also any messages that arrived after the messages page was loaded. I recommend adding a hidden variable to the form with the timestamp of the latest message, and when the form gets submitted mark as read only messages with that timestamp or earlier.
