is it worth having a good gaming pc and a console? How many of you have both of them? Why?

I am considering buying a cheap used xbox360 to play some exclusives (Bayonetta, Rise of Tomb Raider 2015, etc)

What do you think?

I had a ps3. Sold it a week ago. I owned it exactly for the reason you said. I bought it and ordered some exclusives - Heavy Rain, Demon's souls, Red Dead Redemption, GTA V, and enjoyed them!

I too bought for the exclusives Red Dead Redemption & GTA V. Also sold mine now too especially given GTA V is coming to PC (eventually, sometime, maybe, possibly)

If I wanted to run sub-par games at sub-par resolutions and sub-par framerates with sub-par field of view and sub-par control methods while paying out of my arse for the experience, I would just cut bits of my PC off and only buy Ubisoft games then play on the lowest settings and get rid of the options menu.

Well it depend because a console is much convient to play game without worry about System Requirements, and some game like halo or fable only relese on xbox, god of war uncharted on PS...but the PC can handle almost everything code, film, creative stuff, render and good for MOBA,Shooter too.Because of that so i has a PS3 for game PC for work, game notebook for work

Me too. A laptop with a 870M gpu (roughly a desktop 760) and a 3DS to play Sm4sh and Pokemon, I will play Zelda next but I have very little time to play and a huge Steam Library waiting to someday be played at least to its 60%.

Thet "insert CD and play" thing is sadly something of the past, now there's always patches to download and install.

I've never owned any kind of gaming console other than a computer.
On one hand, I wonder what it's like to play games on a console. On the other hand, I really wouldn't have the time to play on both PC and console :D

I have both: PC, Xbox360, PS4, PS2, Nintendo 3DS

I have both so I can play with my friends who only have a PC or only have an Xbox or Playstation.

I have a Wii since it's the only console that provides a gameplay experience different enough from what I get on the PC. I don't use it that much though. I still have my old Dreamcast also but that hasn't even been turned on for a few years. Even when it was still new, I've only played a few exclusives on it and never for very long.

I has a PS2. Hated it.
Or more specifically I hated playing on the big screen on games with low FOV and using a controller.

If I didn't have a gaming PC, I suppose I would have tried hooking the PS2 to a monitor, but the low FOV and lack of keyboard and mouse would probably be enough to make me quit gaming.

Or course that was before I had a 144Hz monitor with G-Sync. Now I cannot ever imagine even trying a console.

You'll love it... although the catalog is still limited, it is a great system. The only thing the PS3 has over the 4 at this point is the game library.

i'm playing mostly GT5 and GT6 on PS3, so i'm kinda waiting for Gran Turismo 7.
is Drive Club any good?

I honestly haven't played it yet, and even though I picked up 6 I have yet to slap that sucker in the drive. I don't think I'm Gran Turismo'd out yet, but racing games have never been my favorites. I know there were a lot of issues on rollout though, and that most have been fixed.

No i have PC and Smartphone. It is almost the same. All good games are or will be released on all platforms so i don´t need any console. I have played almost all exclusive titles for consoles on friends consoles but honestly - 50% of the review score is just because it is not for PC and games itsefl are mostly boring and unoriginal. Im gamer almost 18 years so i am not the "just because the hype" type...

360 and PC. The 360 is amazing; GTA5 is really fun on it as are many other games; the only let down is the loud fan, but not a problem if you have headphones. If batteries in the wireless gamepad are a prob, get a wired usb official 360+pc gamepad.

I have some older consoles, and I find them to be worth owning. I don't own a current gen one though.

Anyway, if it's worth it, well that's up to you. Do you think the extra expense is worth those handful of exclusives that you are interested in? Does couch multiplayer interest you enough to justify you buying a console (this is the reason why I bought my last console)?

Hi-end PC only, dont need past gen console or "next gen" (budget pc with old x86 architecture) console. And in future invest only in PC (more high capacity SSD etc.).

It's nice to have a console to play with friends who don't have a computer when they come home. I loved, and I sometime still love to play Halo on my Xbox, and the Mario Kart, on Wii, are awesome when you need to play with your family or stuff.

Rise of Tomb Raider 2015, will be exclusive to Xbox only for 1 year, expect PC release in 2016. And imo you should NOT buy a console to play AAA games, because this games you will beat and forget, why would you spent that much just to play a few games to just beat and forget? You won't be playing this games for more than 20-30h each anyways and spending much more on them, when on Steam you can buy a way more good games for same money you spend on console + games.

I have consoles if you count the old gens, Wii, Game Cube, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, also PS1 and Sega Genesis.

Came to say this! Tomb Raider sequel is Timed Exclusive.

He could buy a console if he's friends have any of the select available.
