Certainly not a traditional landrace habanero. That'd be orange.
Of course any other weird abomination thereof, maybe so. But not narrow enough, still.

Definitely a Chinense species, but otherwise gonna have to narrow it.
What does it smell like? Taste like?

Yeah. I do this, too. My leftover chiles get smoked, dehydrated and grinded. Excellent smoked spice for kicking up dishes.
I use a Cameron stovetop smoker. Dunno if that's available to you, but they're cheap and work great.

I know it's maybe not the best place to ask but I don't know where else and looking at the pictures around the internet i'm not sure if I identified it right.
