What is your favorite genre of anime?
I was going to recommend you Haibane Renmei, but you already have it on your list. Planetes is also a great anime, and I think you don't have it on your list. Both are mature, "make you think" histories, very different than the typical shōnen manga/anime.

Seikon no Qwaser
Shin Koihime Musou
full of soft things
Comment has been collapsed.
Seikon no Qwaser is such a weird show, I remember seeing GIFs of it and wondering why. Still, something I haven't seen so I will watch it.
Koihime Musou looks pretty terrible too. Which is why I will enjoy it... Anyways, thanks for the suggestions!

Log Horizon is what i recommend
At first, i was like everybody else think it just a cash in, take advance of the popularity of SA:online. But turn out it a dark horse of the season. It all about the social , politic aspect in a "what if " situation like SAO, the animation , combat, and music was good too And there is no character that make you feel "rage" as well every character is well make and likeable .You can have a first season run, and continue with season 2 currently airing right now
Aldnoah.Zero too, if you favour mecha, it a interested turn compare to those typical mecha, where "boy pilot super robot" type, this is "boy , who is cold, emotionless, calculating from beginning , pilot mob type robot fighting with super robot from other side" the combat and animation is superb, and it music too..... damn good

just give another recommend,... and seriously, you not watching Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, and Nichijou ?
those 2 series make my tummy hurt because laughing so much . It absurb, and don;t make any sense at all, that why it great

Aldnoah Zero has a lot of hype, definitely one that I need to look into. I'm just waiting for the second season to finish airing.
As for Log Horizon season 2, just waiting for it to finish. I enjoy watching it all in one go. Thanks for the suggestions!

Ok, if you want, I'll say some words about it :)
It's a warm, kind and funny anime. Almost each episode tells some interesting story about Yōkai (almost same as ghosts). Nice music. Awesome cat-dragon Nyanko-sensei. It also helps to feel better when you are depressed or in bad mood.

Legend of Galactic Heroes is one that I will watch when I have a lot of time to do nothing. It is very long, I would need to dedicate time and effort to it.
I didn't know that Psycho-Pass 2 was completed, I thought it was still airing. This is definitely something I have to get.
The reason why I haven't watched Kuroko no Basuke is that it isn't complete. Once the third season finishes airing, then I will be watching it. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hokuto no ken because its a well made shonen from the 80's with awesome fights, musics, deep story and good voice actors. The kind of gem you dont find nowadays in this world of animes made with computers.
Saint seya for the outstanding fights and musics from seiji yokoyama.
Endless Road SSX because it has Captain Harlock in it, moving anime on the theme of resistance. Watch Arcadia of my Youth first though.
Comment has been collapsed.
I've actually already seen Hokuto no Ken, I should probably add that to my list since it seems it isn't there.
Saint Seiya looks great, haven't heard much about it. I will start the undertaking when I have the time to watch 150ish episodes of one thing.
I'll need to watch the Captain Harlock ones too. Thanks for all of the good 80's series!

Kyoukai no Kanata, great songs and animations.
Jin Roh, has a bit complicated but a good plot.

Trigun
Great main character, interesting story, both fun and sometimes serious.

True, it's not the most satisfying ending I have ever seen but I wouldn't say terrible.

Yeah you should watch it, i was going to recommend trigun too, anyways you should watch it , nothing is more badass than a character who can wield and use a big ass giant cross that is a rocket launcher/minigun, and im not gonna say who it is, because i dont want to make a spoiler, just in case xD

Idk if you're into these things, but Kanon 2006 has such a beautiful story, I almost cried when I first watched it :')
There's also some of the "classics" I used to watch as a kid: Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cardcaptor Sakura, Dragonball...
Not only they are great animes, it's cool to watch these and notice the differences between nowaday's and 90's animes :D
Comment has been collapsed.
I do like those things. Do you think that Kanon 2006 is better than the original?
As for the classics, the main reason why I haven't been watching them is because I've already seen many of them and they are soooo long to rewatch. One of these days...
Thanks for the suggestions.

You might want to watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, since you watched the anime adaptation of the first two parts of the manga.
If you like mecha, go for Gundam X, Gundam V, Gundam Wing, I've heard Gundam 00 is good (Most of these are quite tragic). If you want something more light-hearted you might want to give GaoGaiGar a try. Choujuu Kishin Dancougar has a pretty good plot and great characters, but it's old (Made in 1984 if I'm not mistaken). Haven't watched SPT Layzner, but I've heard it's pretty good (It's from the 80's too)
You're Under Arrest is pretty good in my opinion, if you want some comedy.
If you're into Harem anime, you might want to give Saber Marionette J and Saber Marionette J to X a try.
Magical girls? Not a genre I know much about, but I kinda liked Akihabara Dennou Gumi (Even though it sucks), which according to wikipedia "can be best described as being a fusion of the magical girl, mecha and moe anime genres". Heard Nanoha is pretty good. Pretty Cure seems to be quite good too.
Comment has been collapsed.
JoJo is one that I'm waiting for the second season of Stardust Crusaders to finish. I love that show so much!
Gundam is one that I personally will not be watching. I like to watch all parts of a series when I can, so Gundam would be a nightmare. Where to start? Where to finish? Where did the last two months go?
Gaogaigar looks like a wonderful super fighting robot series. Definitely one to consider.
Choujuu Kishin Dancougar was one I wasn't expecting to find downloads for. Looks cool, and I don't mind old series (the cheese makes it better!)
You're Under Arrest shall be watched. Studio Deen always does good stuff.
Saber Marionette J's premise seems a bit....odd. I will need to analyze it further
Akihabara Dennou Gumi is apparently terrible. I will probably relegate this one to the "lets watch this when I need a bad series to make good series even better" category.
Nanoha and Pretty Cure are both great magical girl series from what my friends have told me. Magical girl isn't my favorite, but I will likely get around to them.
Thanks for the wall of text for suggestions, I have a feeling my next 4 months of watching is already planned out.

The thing about Gundam to take note of is that each series tends to be an individually contained timeline/universe unless otherwise indicated in the title. No major interseries continuity or anything like that. There are certain parallels that seem to be prevalent in all of them—horrors/atrocities of war, 'fighting for peace', gray morality/blindly following orders, as well as masked pilots who are usually quite skilled [the origin of the Char clone trope]—but you are not required to watch Gundam Seed or its direct sequel Seed Destiny in order to get 00. I can't comment on all of the series, but I can personally recommend Wing, Seed, and Seed Destiny.

I can definitely understand that PoV. I have a bit of an obsessive compulsive tendency myself. It's why games with collectibles or simply activities/challenges kind of drive me nuts. Far Cry 3? Screw what I'm supposed to be doing. Do all the things! I end up doing that until I burn myself out on a game. I don't like watching an anime unless it's complete and it's out on blu-ray in my region these days [and available on amazon], mostly because net ain't too great in my area.

In my case, I bought Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1 on the 30th of January, and because I'm the decent sort who doesn't hog the shared internet connection, I usually cap my downloads to 16k or 32k during the day, and unbinding it for a few hours at late night until my computer enters sleep at 6:15. I actually manged to get 3 out of the 5.2 gb for the download of it, until the rurual broadband somehow managed to truncate the steam download. Next thing I know, it's going right from the start again. You can imagine how much I wanted to tear my own hair out.

i'm a gundam fan. You don't have as a many series as it seems. Gundam works by timelines. each timeline is independent from each other (the "universe" is literally different. My opinion is to start with gundam 00 and it's movie.you have also gundam wing and it's movie. Gundam seed and gundam seed destiny. Gundam X. G Gundam. I think these are all the "independent" timelines.
The original timeline is actually very big and on this timeline i would say see original gundam -> zeta gundam->ZZgundam-> char's counterattack (this is a movie) -> gundam unicorn -> victory gundam. These are the ones i like the most. the gundam wiki can help you if you indeed want to watch all series in order.
Comment has been collapsed.
It would still be a hefty undertaking, and I have enough other things to watch that I am tiptoeing around Gundam. Kind of like how you don't always want to watch a 200+ episode series since it's super long. One of these days I'll get to it, but not today.
Comment has been collapsed.
Fair enough, i was just explaining that you could watch gundam 00 (which is 50 eps) without needing to watch anything else however if you pick something like Z gundam you should see the original gundam first. When i watched gundam for the first time i was confused on where to start or how much each series influenced each other. In a nutshell anything that belongs in Universal Timeline should be watched in order, the rest is when you have time. Most gundam series don't have much in common with the exception of a mech battles with some kind of plot.
If you ever need any advice on gundam feel free to add me on steam and i'll try to answer any question.
I highly recommend gundam since you gave code geass 9-10. (gundam, IMO, has better battles then code geass but worse chars).
i hope you have a nice time with all these anime! ^^

Aldnoah Zero seems a pretty decent mecha. I'm going to watch it as soon as the second season ends.

Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko or by it's name in English : The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat.
Well it's not hentai, it's ecchi/harem but with nice comedy, it has few episodes (12 I think, not counting OVAs) I personally watched the entire anime in a day and I really liked this one maybe you would like it too :)

I think the manga is pretty good.

Well, i don't really into anime but manga
Here some recommended anime that i know from manga :
I love gore :3
Edit : Oh, i didn't see some old anime from your list, maybe this will make you interested :
I will probably edit this to add more :3

have you read 3x3 eyes or pupa? If not I think you will enjoy them as they are quite gory.

They don't have spoiler alert but look promising.. Maybe will read them in near future :3

Kuroshitsuji is one that I'm waiting until it entirely airs before watching. It's been hard to wait for it.
Elfen Lied was ok, but after rewatching it didn't really hold up. It was basically Chobits with gore.
Parasite is one that I'm waiting until it finishes airing. It looks superb.
As for the old series, I've already seen most of these in part when I was younger. I just haven't added them since I would need to rewatch and give them a rating. One of these days. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions!

Dragonball! Huzzah! I love this series! This one comes highly recommended by me. I just recently bought the last DBZ season on blu-ray :D

Someone already mentioned Hokuto No Ken which I would have said as well so instead I'm going to suggest Texhnolyze as you seem to like the more mature themed anime rather then the kid themed stuff.
I would also checking out more Lupin III then just the Castle of Cagliostro, The original series is great.
Another show would be Excel Saga, very funny comedy anime that parodies quite a few shows but is also good in it's own right.
Comment has been collapsed.
I've already watched Hokuto No Ken, although I guess you read my reasoning for that as well up above.
Texhnolyze is one that I haven't watched since I'm leery about how similar it is to Serial Experiments Lain. I will get around to it, but that and my friends shining hate of the series has stopped me. I'll give it a try after some of the better examples from this thread.
I've watched all of the English translated Lupin III (its in my "On Hold' section), but I refuse to watch the japanese for this series since I can't live without the english Lupin's voice. I really wish they translated more Lupin, I love the show to death.
I've already watched Excel Saga. Great series, and with a catchy opening.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Space Dandy was one I didn't realize had finished. Watching for sure.
Trinity Seven looks great, especially since the male lead is apparently not dense. Definitely one to watch.
Date a Live seems decent. It also just reminded me that I have to watch The World God Only Knows again.
Already mentioned Hentai Neko above. I'm already unable to keep up with the recommendations, so I'll just let people look if they want to read why i said yes.
Strike the Blood looks like typical harem antics. So yes, I will get to it.
Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin looks amazing. This will likely be one of the first I will watch from this thread.
Black Bullet seems like more of an entry level anime. I will get around to it.
Tokyo Ghoul has a second season airing. Probably will have to wait for that to finish before starting on this.
Kuroshitsuji has one last season airing, then I will be watching it.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

I guess Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is a love it or hate it kind of anime. It's pure comedy and there's no plot. I lol'd in pretty much every episode, however, my friend didn't find it a single bit funny. So here's my recommendation, check it out, you may like it :)

Some of the Fall 2014 animes i quite enjoyed .
Grisaia no Kajitsu .... pretty interesting series actually ...
Gugure! Kokkuri-san . ... This 1 is just pure fun from start to finish :)
Amagi Brilliant Park ... Yet another fun series :)
Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de Its Okay-ish ...
Trinity Seven 10/10 i watched it for the plot ...
Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai That was kinda... weird ... its okay i guess :)
Also there is Psycho pass and Log Horizon second seasons ... Must watch those 2 ...
Cant say much bout the series w/o spoiling them tho :c
Thats just what i watched past couple weeks ..
Comment has been collapsed.
Grisaia is one that I will have to wait on. There is a second season airing soon and a third season planned. I'll watch it when they are all finished.
Gugure! looks like a weird comedy series. I will enjoy this one.
Amagi Brilliant Park had me when I saw Bonta-Kun from Full Metal Panic in the image. I will watch this one.
Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de looks either terrible or great. Rom com harem series with superpowers is too weird to be absolute awful, right???
Trinity Seven looks great, especially since the male lead is apparently not dense. Definitely one to watch.
Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai has an interesting premise. The reviews and such for this one didn't really wow me. I'll probably watch it after the tons of cool things in this thread.
And I will definitely be doing seasons of Psycho-Pass and Log Horizon once they finish
Thanks for the suggestions! Also it sounds like you powerwatch things way too quickly, I can rarely do more than 3 series in week.

Bout Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de ... if you dont like it till episode 3 id say , dont bother with it :)
For me it was really fun , and i kinda watched just silly fanservice / fun stuff cause was feeling down :|
So yeah , if you dont like it early on ... dont really bother ... doesnt have much more to offer later on :)
As for the powerwatching part ... not really i think i saw like 10 shows in tottal to completion this year , and most of them are the ones i mentioned above :p
Comment has been collapsed.
My problem is that if I start a series, I need to finish it. The only things I wait on are the super long shounen series I started when I first started watching anime and I'm now waiting for them to finish, or series I watch with friends. So if I hate it after episode 3, I will still watch it all.
Comment has been collapsed.
Damn, your list is pretty damn big.I just read a bit of manga.Usually football/soccer ones.I guess you could try our Hungry Heart:Wild Striker if you're interested it's about 54episodes long and I loved it! It's one of the few anime that I used to watch as a kid and decided to rewatch.
Also,if you're into mystery/crime I'd suggest Detective School Q.The manga is much better than the anime since the anime was cut short. But it's still pretty good.
Also would like to suggest Get Backers. It's an action anime/manga and is my favourite <3.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I really like anime and it's not illegal to download (although i do purchase series I really like after watching them). So I've been slowly working my way through it all.
Hungry Heart looks like a pretty stereotypical soccer anime. When I am in the mood for some sports, I'll get on this one.
Detective School Q looks interesting. I really hate it when shows end before the story is done, but it still looks entertaining enough to watch.
Get Backers looks wonderful. Thanks for the suggestions!

So I have been watching a lot of anime, and I have started to hit a brick wall. I don't really know what to watch, and I've already been through many of the top-ranked lists. So I thought that I would come to the wonderful people of SG for some help! Feel free to recommend some things, and a quick explanation of why people should watch it would be great!
I have a MAL list of all the things I have watched and what I rated them. Although it would be lovely to rewatch things I have already seen, it would be better to find new and exciting things to view.
Also I'm sure you all came in for the giveaways rather than out of the kindness of your heart. People who mention a show that I haven't watched and explain why I should watch it will be added to my whitelist. These lucky people will be allowed to join a bunch of bundle giveaways, and then will be promptly dropped from my whitelist after the giveaways finish. I might also be putting up an anime puzzle in here when I have the time, so even those who haven't watched anime but love to use their google-fu can enjoy.
Anyways, thank you for your assistance! Lets all enjoy anime together!
TLDR: Give me recommendations not on this list and explain why, I give you games and love.
EDIT: Wow, that was a large response. I'll try to get through everyone and respond to all of your posts, and then I'll whitelist everyone and create some giveaways. Check back in probably 5ish hours and I should have everything ready by then. Thanks for all of the support and recommendations!
EDIT2: After responding to four and a bit pages of recommendations, I need a break. I'll be back in an hour or so, hang tight. Giveaways should still be up when I said they would be, never fear.
EDIT3: Back for more commenting. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this thread.
EDIT4: Finally made it to the bottom! I'll add everyone to my whitelist now and then post up the giveaways.
EDIT5: Whitelist giveaways are now up. They are all cheap bundle games, but I hope people still are interested.
Giveaway 1
Giveaway 2
Giveaway 3
Giveaway 4
Giveaway 5
EDIT6: Giveaways are over, and I'll be closing this thread. Thank you everyone for the suggestions!
