I'm sorry if you didn't understand what they were saying on the trailer, it adds so much more to the experience. I'll try to make subtitles once I release the full thing, but I've never worked with subtitles before, so it will take a while.
Thinking about it, I never did a documentary before this, nor I shot for two months straight, all by myself. I loved every moment of this previous experience shooting this documentary (except the first day, my back killed me and I had to lay down for the rest of the day), and I want to try something new again.
Thank you for the vote!

I want to win so that I can get enough money to pay for the expenses of making my new documentary. I need better sound equipment, that just one person alone can handle (I do all the work alone, from directing, editing, sound and image capture, to production, etc.), a lighter and smaller rig for my camera, so that I can follow people around without getting tired really fast, a new lens that can capture images from 18mm to 70mm without having to switch lens every 5-10 minutes, plus food, lodging, and travelling expenses are also things I have to think of.
My country is going through a major crisis, and the very first thing they did was to stop helping young filmmakers such as myself. This contest is a chance to work on what I love the most, learn more, meet new and interesting people, and improve my skills.
So yeah, it's both of those things. It's because I WANT to be good/better, and because I'll get the money I need to do so.
Also, I'll make a giveaway, regardless if I win the contest or not.

If I was able to vote for you I would, whether you did a giveaway or not.
Good luck with your film making/documentary career!

It's no problem. You can still vote if you have Facebook but you're not on between 18-30 years old. Just when you're finishing the Sign Up, put 1985 as your date of birth. It's a nice way to go around that.
If you don't have Facebook, nevermind that.
Thanks for your support!

I could have voted, 8 years ago... now it says I'm just too old.

THE VOTING ENDED AND I FINISHED AT 50TH PLACE. PLEASE COMMENT ON THE STEAM GROUP WHAT GAME YOU'D LIKE TO HAVE! YOU CAN CHOOSE IT UNTIL THE END OF THE DAY!
Thanks everyone! I couldn't have done this without your help!

Hi everyone! I figured we'd play a game, since this is steamgifts after all.
I'm a young filmmaker and I just finished my first HUGE project. It was a documentary about the everyday life on Schist villages in Portugal (you can see the trailers and whatsoever in here, here, here, and here). I produced, edited, filmed, and directed this 36 minute documentary all by myself (I apologize for not having subtitles, but all of my current work finishing the color correction on the documentary, plus writing my thesis, as you can imagine, takes all the time I have left).
Now I find myself looking forward a more "urbanish" project. I was thinking about making a new documentary about young artists, that such as myself, keep working on new ideas and projects. So far I've determined I'm going to follow the steps of a bboy/bgirl, a musician, and an illustrator. But for such a project, funding is always needed. For my last documentary, I managed to get 1600€ from a Crowdfunding campaign. This time I don't want to ask people for money again, I want to try something new.
So this is where you come in. I entered for the Benetton "Unemployee of the year" contest, which gives 5000€ to finance the winners project. The top 100 projects with more votes get the prize.
All you have to do is vote here: Our Artists Project (it's a temporary title, don't worry).
You have to click on "Connect with Facebook", and then there should be a button on the bottom of the page with "Aprecciate it" written on, and you can login with Facebook to register your vote, so it's a fairly simple process.
Everyone who votes for this project, please comment here. I'll do a group at the end of the contest, and everyone who voted for me will be invited to this group and get the chance to win a game of their choice (I'll make a poll and you'll vote for the game you want).
Seems fair enough?
Thanks everyone!
PS: I made a new promotional video in ENGLISH for you guys! Check the video out! Thank you!
PS2: If anyone has any doubts about how the contest works, what's the documentary about, what I've been working until now, etc., just ask me. I'll try to answer to every doubts you guys might have! Thanks for helping me so far!
