...and if so, did you like the outcome? The only game I ever pre-ordered was Abyss Odyssey (and I still didn't have time to try it), anything that ACE Team does is an insta-buy for me and I want to support them as a studio.

Yeah, BO2 and Borderlands 2.
BO2 was hell of a fun, no complains.
On the otherside, I got bored pretty quickly with BL2..

BL2 is much more fun playing co-op. I really couldn't get into it before, but I like it now after trying out co-op

Yes. Only when I feel I can trust the quality though.

Skyrim, Dark Souls 2 and more recently BOI rebirth.

its worked out so far, though admittedly that remains to be seen for rebirth.

I preordered few eventhough im against preordering games in general.
I bought South Park for full price just few minutes after it went live, didn't even used a russian connection which turned out to be a smart move later after Ubi locked all those gift copies. I was satified with the game so that turned out fine.

Preordered Deadly Premonition and that left a bit of a bad experience for me since i had to wait a whole 2 months so they patch the last boss fight and game ended up in a bundle shortly after. So i got burned there.

Preordered Call of Juarez: Gunslinger although to this day i don't know why, it was a pretty short and mediocre game but it came with a free copy of first COJ so i guess that's something.

In a hindsight, all those preorders were really bad choices except for South Park.
And few days ago i got two copies of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth preorder, one for me and another for......damn, i seem to have problems remembering who was the other copy for, i guess it was no one important then. Or maybe this last bit is just a long winded inside joke directed at the person who got that 2nd copy of BOI: Rebirth? I guess we will never know

When I was young and stupid I pre-ordered Far Cry 3. Well actually, I traded for a pre-order.

That's how I stopped being young and stupid.

The only game I ever pre-ordered was Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain Of Memories for the PS2. The GBA version was my very first KH game and made me fall in love with the series so when I saw it was hitting the PS2 I knew I had to have it. <3 Was definitely worth it. CoM is still my favorite KH game~

I pre-ordered the original Guild Wars, but that was after playing the beta.

Last thing I pre-ordered was Delain's current album. Could have gotten it a little cheaper had I waited, but I don't mind supporting a band I like. It's a good album, so I'm happy I got it.

I don't remember pre-ordering a game, but I might have done that when the universe was younger.

On second thought, all those Kickstarter pledges probably count as pre-orders. That's not exactly the same, but it's similar and in some ways worse: it's putting money on a game a couple of years before release in the hope that it will end up a good game. Good thing most of these games turn out good enough. I just finished Broken Sword 5 recently and enjoyed it.

I preorder mostly games where I liked the other games of that series. Hm don't think I ever preordered one that was the first of its kind.
Some games I preordered:
Diablo 3 + D3 RoS (both physical CE <3), Batman Arkham City and Origins, The Darkness II (loved the first one)

Not yet released:
Batman Arkham Knight (totally looking forward to that)
Binding of Issac: Rebirth (:DDD Will be so cool)

If "early access" can be treated like pre-order then I bought two games. If no - none.

World of Warcraft expansions + The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

The expansions were a must have, and while The Bureau wasn't that good (wasn't that bad either imo) the extras coming with the pre-order made it worth it.

GalCiv I back in the day. Wasn't as immersed as I hoped I'd be.

Helped kickstarting Wasteland 2. Resisted the temptation to join beta. Will see how it goes on Friday.

Poker Night 2, it gave free Poker at the inventory and I got money back by trading it, also Borderlands 2, I "pre-ordered" it for 20$ after few days/1 week game when released, but it was a Borderlands 2 Pre-Order key with the bonuses.

I guess all those not sold keys from official resellers, go to gray resellers, and you can buy the Pre-Order version for a cheap price even after game released.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure. I wasn't disappointed by either game.

However, I usually wait for prices to drop before I pick up any title.

Very rarely, over the past 7 years: CoD4, Rayman Legends, Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite and Dark Souls 2. Even though by that time they were already reviewed and everything. So not exactly on good faith either.

Some 3ds games. All of them were awesome (FE:Awakening, KI:Uprising, and Smash is waiting for me).
The only that sucked was Mario Tennis Open. Why, Nintendo, WHY?!
