Why are so many people hating it before even being informed it seems no one even knows what they are trying to do with it and are auto assuming its for casuals when its clearly not as shown by this

Honestly, I don't care what Nintendo does at this point. The only franchise I care about they let Team Ninja butcher horrendously. So screw Nintendo.

Know what pisses me off, this could work in certain situations but they went and picked the wrong games, I would love a Mario/Donkey Kong fusion...

They both have games taking place in space.. it kind of makes sense when you think about it.

Makes sense in terms of location. Makes no sense in terms of everything else. Starfox and Metroid? Really? They trying to kill TWO franchises permanently, and simultaneously?

There's already a game featuring both Mario and Donkey Kong. It's called "Donkey Kong" and it's been released in 1981.

Yeah I meant a new one...if you wanna get technical there has been a few on the DS also, I meant a new one on a main system, like a fusion platformer.

I'd say its because Nintendo moved far away from the hardcore gamers, and almost exclusively cared for the casual gamers.
That said, I do wish them to do well, though I'm not expecting much.
I'm only looking for my new Paper Mario sequel gameplay/trailer, and a new Super Smash Bros trailer/gameplay.

wow can get those on any platform... nintendo had a good run with wii but they have had a steady slope since SNES. true there were good titles on the cube and wii.... and i intentionally left out 64, only 1 good game, ocarania of time. but most wii games were lacking. nothing compared to SNES

I am not a fan of the 64 but that was not the only good game...Super Smash Bros. Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie, GoldenEye 007, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing , Ogre Battle 64 , Sin and Punishment, Paper Mario, Conker's Bad Fur Day, etc...

Sure it could have had more good games but it had plenty.

SNES was the best of course.

Its Snes>Wii>N64>GC for me but they all have gems imo.

I would have my Snes still hooked up but...I play the games in other ways now. Still have all my cartridges and a working system though.

I bought a Wii when it was released because the wiimote was new and exciting, it was a fun system, the Wii U has nothing to impress me, apparently the graphics will be comparable to a 360/ps3(A.K.A: old tech) with a couple new features and the controller does not even spark my interest.

I might buy one when it hits a low low price just to play Mario/DonkeyKong/Metroid/Etc...but I can wait. In other words I dont hate it, I am just unimpressed.

I don't hate the Wii U, but find it quite "meh".

It's all up to game developers to make it successful.

Nintendo is always 1 step late joining whats new.

N64 - Cartridge
PS1 - CD
Sega - CD

GameCube (aka. GayCube) - minicd
PS2 - DVD WATCH MOVIES
xbox - DVD WATCH MOVIES

Wii - DvD (Finally took a while) NOT WATCH MOVIES
PS3 - HDMI + Blu-Ray WATCH 1080p MOVIES
xbox 360 - HD-DVD (xbox came with hdmi later, but they used hd-dvd which is discountinued except that they use it.) WATCH 1080p MOVIES

AND NOW, FINALLY NINTENDO HAS BOTH BLU-RAY; DVD; HDMI

nintendo is always 1 step ahead in things that are important in console gaming.
SNES - first shoulder buttons
N64 - first analog stick.
Wii - first motion control
WiiU - first touch controls in big console.

first implementation is not usually the best one but it eventually becomes standard and improves game entertainment.

true /\

wht everyone can't see: If nintendo show all mario's,dk,metroid, zelda's at the same time... the console will loose publicity "power" and other things.
anyway... nintendo is smart.

Correction, 360 - DVD, with the option of spending $200 for a HD-DVD add-on that would end up being completely useless.

E3 has made me much more interested in the Wii-U. I've always been a fan of Pikmin, so I was glad to see Pikmin 3 in action.

However, I'll need Super Smash Bros. to convince me to buy one. Maybe a few more games too like Mario Party of WarioWare.

I recently revisited some of my old favourite Gamecube games including Kirby Air Ride and Pikmin and it made me realise just how good Nintendo are at making games. There have always been limitations with the Wii, but I think the Wii-U removes some of those limitations, allowing Nintendo to finally run wild with their creativity again without having to worry about being so far behind the rest of the gaming scene.

I don't "hate" Wii U but I don't find it interesting at all. Wii and Wii U as far as I know are both using gimmicks that make the consoles feel "fresh" for some people. Personally I find motion and touch controls to be absolutely horrendous for gaming because they lack the precision I'm used to.

They can actually add a lot to the game if used wisely. The problem is that many games are using motion controls for the sake of usion motion controls. Games that are designed right and make smart use of the motion controls can be quite good actually. It reminds me of the need for every game to go 3D at some point when it was the new thing. Some titles works best as 2D ones and once the crazed passed, we saw again some quality 2D-only games.

True, although I find simple games to work best with them. 2D puzzle games for touch controls and games like Wii Sports for motion controls.

Moody dark emotional trailer for what will probably be another shallow broken zombie game. All too familiar. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice? I think not.
