Is Fallout 3 and Fallout:NV worth buying?

Hell yes. Fallout 3 and NV are two of my favourite games. However, it took me personally 5-6 hours to get into them. So y'know, give it time if you feel like you're not getting into it quickly.

Get both! they are really great! i use Raptr to get my Fallout 3 gaming time becuse i got the non steam version have around 200hours into it so far :D

I've never played New Vegas but Fallout 3 is one of the best games I have ever played!

Of course they are. Though FNV is much more Fallout whereas F3 is more of a spinoff and is quit restricted as RPG. If you're getting them, stock up on mods! ;)

...and you really should play old Fallouts too. It's just something a person must do. I recommend MIB88's MegaMod for F2.

And you don't necessarily need GOTY editions but the Mothership Zeta (Fallout 3) and Old World Blues (Fallout NV) addons are absolute essentials.

Yes, they're both worth playing. Get the GOTY/Ultimate editions. It's cheap as hell so why not?

Fallout 3 is, I didn't really enjoy NV as much, didn't really have that same feel. Also, it felt more linear, less sandboxy for some reason.
