I heard it's fun only when you managed to get the hang of it...

hmm, I don't know, it feels like really unpolished game with a really clunky controls .. but on the other hand, I really love the building of the houses and managing the city as a whole. I think it's not for everyone and you should try it at some friend or somewhere before buying it :)

from the first time i played to now it is almost a completely different game. they changed it so much im re teaching myself how to play, it is good just a little more complicated than before with the levels of houses and having to build roofs. but now i can demolish a mountian if i want or make one a mine if i want.

Towns seems like a really great idea suffering from terrible execution. I played the demo, and it was quite addicting, but it was also the most frustrating experience in a game I've faced for a while - and I've beat Dark Souls 100%. Maybe in a few months it'll be the greatest game ever, and I'd love to see that be true, but as it stands it's simply not worth the money. You would be better off getting the Sims or something else.

Isn't it worth even $6?

Not at this point. Five is the absolute highest value I would put on this game.

Got it during the Alpha bundle. Quite addictive. But many features of the game itself isn't much explained. You'll have to go through the forums and ask the people there or search for the wiki. The most recent version of Towns is somewhat confusing because now you can build buildings with multiple floors.

Towns combines town management with RPG and dungeon crawler. Instead of you going down the dungeon killing monsters, you'll have to manage a town build above some dungeon for no apparent reason.

Have you ever played the free game Dwarf Fortress? If so the answer is very simple, you will absolutely love it. Basically it looks and feels like a updated version of Dwarf Fortress. :)

Updated? Only in looks. Dwarf Fortress is a better game with more features and more complex gameplay.

I would rather recommend Gnomoria, its a better game and gets more updates. You can buy it at desura and you will receive a steam key when the games gets released(it is already greenlit btw)

I already have it from IGS, but found it quite boring after ~5 hours.
And it's horribly laggy.

I was gifted it, and I felt bad for the person who spent the money on it. The screenshots looked amazing, but the gameplay and interfaces were terribad. I'll stick with Dwarf Fortress.
