I never do them unless they are easy. I 2 dumb.
My puzzles are super easy whenever I do make mine.

I used to solve puzzles a lot before, but then people started posting a lot of insanely hard puzzles and I gave up.
I don't mind if the puzzle requires knowledge I don't have as long as I can either google for answer OR google to find the method I need to use to crack the puzzle. Unfortunately a lot of them are made in a way where even googling doesn't help, you either know what you need to do or you don't have a chance of solving it. And those kind of puzzles frustrated me to the point where I just avoid all SG puzzles now.
Another issue I have with the puzzles is something other people already mentioned, people not telling you which game is behind the puzzle. Not to mention people sometime make puzzle giveaways that have level requirement and sometimes they make it higher than the level you're at, so you end up wasting a lot of time and then you're not even able to enter the giveaway.
I understand when they don't want to tell you which game it is because they think surprises are fun and I know some people would rather be surprised then knowing what awaits. But in that case they could just put the name(s) of the game(s) hidden behind puzzle in spoiler thingy. That way people who don't want to know the name of the game(s) don't have to look behind the spoiler, and people who want to know what they'd be solving the puzzle for can check.

That's good. The more people hate puzzles - the more chances for people who love puzzles)

I see the word puzzle and I walk away. More chances for others. You thank me later.

I like the puzzles. I often give up though. But whenever I persevere, most of the answers make sense.
Anyway, most of the puzzles lead to high chances of winning meh games. And that's ok for me.

I skip almost any topic that has the word puzzle in it to be fair.
I just dont understand the logic behind most of them .
There ware that topic explaining how to solve puzzles , but it just doesnt tick in my head to be fair .
The Itstohard ones are fun , every now and then ... but even there half the times its just somekinda inside thing , that i have not the time nor the patiance to bother with .
Cant say i mind them , but i rather solve a puzzle thats open to the general masses , instead of an inside joke thing / some binary i dont even know what the hell thing that makes sense for a couple hundred ppl :)

I enjoy few of them, like naming a game through pictures, or where you can find the answer through Google. I Quit the puzzle where I am not able to make heads and tails of the puzzle in first 10 mins.

I don't hate them since I love puzzle games but I'm bad at the puzzles that peeps make here :/.

Hm, after reading all these replies ... I think I'll work on my new puzzle this weekend ^^
(I don't solve/try to solve as many as I used to, mainly because they do take up a lot of time - though I find that sometimes the ones where you have to google stuff take longer than some where you just have to think about it a bit, and the thinking puzzles are more fun)

I think no one else linked it yet. If you want to try a quite hard puzzle, try notpron.
Without having read all comments: Guess the googleable science fact is the easiest way to create a puzzle. Doing anything else, e.g. pattern matches is much more work to get it done well. Even more complex stuff takes even more time and, if no one solves it, you (at least I) are thinking why did I do this.

I like some of them. However, I really hate those that requires you to guess stuff that you have no way of knowing or finding out via a bit of research.
What was the name of my second grade teacher's dog when she was living in Spain?
Hint: She was in high school at the time
Sometimes, when they seem interesting, I might jut solve them for the fun of it even if I know I won't join the giveaway.
Heck, I even made one a little while ago. Fortunately, it was quite easy. No complicated, hard to find stuff.

I mostly just do a quick overview of the puzzle before I start it, and see if there's any hope. Probably 95% of puzzles I don't even attempt because it's just not worth it. Some of the others are fun, though - but it's always disappointing when I complete a difficult puzzle and there's nothing good on the other side xD

i'm with you. especially, that some of the puzzles are only by brute forcing.
i usually ignore everything that's marked puzzle. but once in a while i try if i think it's easy...

I did one SG puzzle where pretty much all the answers had hints ... Had a bunch of trouble still and almost gave up. That was my first and last puzzle. I don't like SG puzzles >< I use to sit with my dad and put together 1000 piece puzzles, and buy puzzle books, but i dont know ... SG puzzles are a whole different ball game

[Rant removed because it's not really that bad. Well, sometimes it's not.]
