Hmm...just got billed for December's monthly. Didn't realize they would do it a week before the bundle came out.
Worried a bit since there have been no clues or any hype really for this month's games. I guess I'll see what comes out and request a refund if it's a bunch of repeats. Which I'm totally expecting of course.

I checked my subs settings on paypal, but it said that my HB sub is active. I don't know what i should fix, i got same error previously when i tried to pay on steam without reentering paypal password.

I contacted support and they want me to send them an order number, but AFAIK there is no credit card transaction or evidence that I was charged for the December Bundle. :/

Just add the credit/debit card directly to HB, several times my card denied through paypal but worked perfectly directly at the site :/

I had the same issue, have credit card directly entered into HB profile. From the wording of the email, it seems they will attempt to charge cards/accounts again at some point before December 4th, but we don't know exactly when it will happen. I'm going to send HB support a ticket and see what they say for clarification-- I guess I'm not alone and it was some configuration error on their end.

Looks like they are on vacay over the Thanksgiving holiday, and support doesn't work weekends anyways. I'm guessing they'll get it sorted out and reply to tickets next week, hopefully in time for the bundle launch!

You might wanna shoot HB support a notice about this, they should be able to configure a switch on their end that triggers the PayPal API to cancel the subscription on the PayPal side as well.

I personally figure it is worth it to stay for the first 3 months. If they can't give something worth it within 3 months during the holiday season, then it generally isn't going to be worth it any other time short of a miracle.

I don't understand how HB team want ppl, to keep/buy subscription for upcoming monthly bundle, when everyone know, how previous bundle looked. Also, why should anyone keep his/her subscription active, when new people will get more for the same price?

They don't get more for the same price.
They give out one game from the previous bundle, just like they gave 1 free game immediately from the last bundle. That way you get something immediately when you purchase it so you can't change your mind and get a refund.

IMHO you should treat Legend of Grimrock and the current TowerFall Ascension as a part of the bundle
it doesn't matter if you get it earlier, later - you get it as part of the subscription, so it is part of the bundle

Not really, think about it like this.
On the first bundle, you got 1 completely free game the moment you bought it that counted as your bonus, from that point on, it is business as usual.
Then, for the new people, they get 1 completely free game the moment you bought it from the previous bundle that counted as your bonus, from that point on, it is business as usual.
The only difference between the last bundle and this one is that, on the last bundle, we got hints. This one we got none.

the problem is ... even HB treats Grimrock as part of the bundle showing it on the bundle page (both, when subscribed and not)
but nvm, I have cancelled subscription, and without hints I will never go back
only reason other than hints could be this "free" game from previous bundle, but I wonder if I will get it if I haven't received it on previous month ...
naaaah, time to lear my lesson, and never again jump in a blind bundle like this
for now I am waiting for tomorrow and the rest of current codemasters bundle ;)

TLDR; = It is an error on their side, they are aware of it, they will retry charging credit cards/PayPal accounts tomorrow, and people will not be unsubscribed if for some reason the second attempt also fails.

I hope this one is at least a decent deal. While HB hasn't had as many good bundles this month, I hope that the monthly at least has a base retail value that makes it meaningfully discounted, not just sales tier. For $12, last month's monthly was less than $120 iirc, whereas, say, Jumbo 5 were $9 for almost/over $250. I just hope I don't regret getting this instead of the Codemasters one.

Sounds awfully like attempts to limit last-minute unsubscriptions and makes me think Humble themselves have not much faith. Even a possibly amazing bundle may become a paradoxical boomerang, as it'd leave people puzzled to why they didn't use it the first month.

I made sure to read the fine print when I signed up for the subscription/recurring payment. They said very clearly in their FAQ:
As long as you cancel your membership one week before the next unlock, you will not be charged for the following membership month.
No hints does suck though. I suppose that if they gave hints every time, many people would just always cancel their subscription and wait for hints before deciding to sign up again. That's what I did in hope of hints anyways.

if they care about the bundle & money their making (which is undoubted) they are probably going to have a good -

Nah, not bothering. Didn't get the first one, and despite almost giving in to temptation a few times on the final day I held off. Was glad I did in the end, too much risk of repeats with a library my size. If I had less than 1000 games on Steam or even1500 I think I'd be all over this.

There are no hints at all about the content of the bundle. It was said Tomb Raider/Never Alone to be in this bundle because of a picture in a hb mail, but the same image was used for the first bundle, so it has the same sense guessing Tomb Raider than Wolfenstein New Order. They are guesses with no base at all (despite their price in the last sale)

I'm looking down at the bottom where it has a subscribe button, and there are 6 mystery boxes, but there is also the Towerfall Ascension box, so that makes 7 total. Maybe you're not including TA if you were already a subscriber last month. Or maybe you're looking at something else as a subscriber.
