I want to be near tears at the end, I want to be moved in a way that only something with a compelling story can do. I'm tired of games like CoD being nothing but action, any suggestions?

LoZ feel type of game would be wonderful.

Well... If MGS4 didn't move you, so you don't have a feelings or you need to also play the previous ones. :D

Wat. You only played the fourth in the series?

That's a crime in the eyes of an MGS fan.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. It's only for PS3, but it's an excellent game! Metal Gear series has best story, and it's probably the best game series ever. People who played some of MGS games knows what I am talking about. Don't listen to the people who recommending you Battlefield: Bad Company 2, DOOM 3, Metro 2033 etc... Tell me, how these games are emotionally moving???

And the third. They just didn't effect me, I want to forget I'm playing a game.

Try LA Noire, Heavy Rain, or Dear Esther.

The latter two will make you forget that you are playing a game. Almost guaranteed.

I played Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) from the developers of Heavy Rain, and Fahrenheit is one of the best games here, but not emotionally moving for me. So I bet that Heavy Rain is excellent game too!

YES. Heavy Rain is an amazing game. It's not a typical action packed, frantic story, but the depressing theme of the entire game just brings you down. And by the end (whichever ending you'll get), it's usually pretty grim.

HR will seriously move you. I dunno about the other 2, but I bet they will too.

FFX is certainly emotional. If you can get past some corny things that JRPGs bring to the table, you'll find yourself a great emotional experience within (and if you already love JRPG, then you've grown to expect the corniness and love it anyway).

I couldn't think of more at the time haha

Blazblue can be me emotional, but it's mainly comedy (at least to me), and Mass Effect is as well at points.

That's all I can think of for now.

Both parts of Persona 2 for the PS1 as well as the original Jade Cocoon. The later art director was Katsuya Kondo of Kiki's Delivery Service from Studio Ghibli.

Bastion, The Void, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Trauma, Scratches: Director's Cut (one of two games to ever make me scared for my life), Fallout 1. That's all I can name off the top of my head, none are tearjerkers, but all evoke emotions you did not know you had
