If we don't count screwing around in RPG Maker, there was one Choose-Your-Adventure-Style style text game I made years ago. Nothing impressive though, I was using some program (I don't remember its name) and I knew absolutely nothing about programming back then.

I was the 3D engine developer for the MMORTS Ballerium, which unfortunately ran out of development money (although it got released a few years later, and lasted a few months).

I also created a demo for AIseek (another unsuccessful company; it tried to create an AI accelerator), which wasn't a full game but was a lot of fun, even though all the player did was drive a tank around a schematic city and destroy the buildings.

I programmed Frogger in Pixel shaders for the first Pixel Shader 2 ATI cards and won a Radeon 9800 Pro for it.

These are the highlights I remember. I did some other small things and helped some projects.

What kind of game? Card game? Board game? Pencil & Paper game? Computer game?

Anyway, the answer is "yes."

It doesn't matter what type of game. I was just wondering how many people have made on or have tryed to

Well, I did do several fangames before. None of them released to the world and lost to hard drive failures.

As of right now, I'm working on something like an "Enhanced Edition" to Mega Man 3, my second favourite of all the Mega Man games.

Yeah, I programmed a small game in Python using the "pygame" module. It was a multiplayer game where the person with the mouse had to 'shoot' the person using the keyboard by clicking on them. The person on the keyboard had to run around the screen and find powerups to avoid the mouse for one minute. It wasn't very well done, but I had fun making it and its pretty fun to play.

I tried to make a game through Unity, but I was relying purely on public commercial use assets and did all the coding myself. Not very easy.

Made a text based RPG back in high school... it was really really short. Made some Flash games in college. Don't have any of them anymore.

only 1 full fledged release atm, It was a project and it was projectile defense game.

Other than that, I've made some unfinished games like:

  • snake adventures(have holes in each side and auto generates new map; ran out of algorithm ideas for randomization),
  • catch the pixels (audiosurf copy but runs on command prompt; It wasn't smooth so I scrapped the game),
  • and my very first one: A text rpg which lists you choices on what actions are available(Didn't finish storyline but game engine is completed)

Im not really fond of making games. I'm more of a simulation/application programming guy who eats large data and process them to something.

When I was in middle school i made a text based adventure game, complete with menus and a command system ( look, take, enter, use, ect.), on my graphing calculator. It was pretty simplistic, it literally being just text, and took about 15 minutes to beat, but it was kinda fun.

I guess technically I did. Back in college I took some video-game design classes, and we were required to make games for that. Only did it for 2 semesters though, and the games I created weren't really anything special.

Nope, I was in a group who wanted to create a game, but they did things a bit chaotic without structure (brainstorming ideas and developing them halfway, when the group was still full of inactive people, how they would work on the game was somewhat unclear, etc.) and besides pointing out that the group needed to be culled and to do things more in order, according to a plan, I did not add anything useful. I had not the much needed skills. So I left.
