People already mentioned stranger things and that's the only series I like so I can't help you much. But thanks for the train :)

Incendies
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Grand Budapest Hotel
After Life (Wandafuru Raifu)
Still Walking
Tokyo Story
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Minds
Blancanieves
The Lobster
Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight
I don't watch Hollywood movies/Netflix/series that much, so sorry if my recommendation is a bit obscure :D

I will only recommend comedy, since I rarely watch anything else. No need for thriller, drama and the like, I get that enough in everyday life. ;)
Some excellent Irish and British comedy series:
Father Ted (a must-see TV series)
Black Adder (with the wonderful wit and wordplay of Rowan Atkins)
Black Books (drunk Irish owner of a bookshop who despises customers)
The IT Crowd (great nerdy show)
Green Wing (will test your very wacky British humour glands - definitely not for everyone)
The Office (the original British series made me cringe many times, the American copy is arguably easier to watch)
Goodnight Sweetheart (TV repair man accidentally travels through time to London during the Blitz and starts to lead a double life there and in the present—less of a "lough out loud" series, but funny and charming nonetheless)

Wow, first mention of Green Wing I have ever seen on SG.
Such a great show, that few saw and even less remembered :/
I love all the other shows you've listed too.
Personally I would add Spaced, Ideal, Peep Show, I'm Alan Partridge and Psychoville.

Indeed, Peep Show and Spaced do belong on that list of quirky comedy shows.
Need to check Ideal, I'm Alan Partridge and Psychoville.
Do you happen to know of any good BBC Radio shows? I loved Cabin Pressure, John Finnemore's Souvenir Program, Absolute Power (the TV show as well), Yes Minister (again, the TV show as well :P ) and Welcome To Our Village - Please Invade Carefully. If you happen to know of some other radio shows along that line (witty, play on words, and that typical English humour) I would be thrilled to hear about them. :)

Nope, sorry. But thanks a lot for opening a up a whole new worid for me.
I hope I'll find backlogs of those radio shows you mentioned.
My day job involves mostly driving, so these would be a great addition to the podcasts I'm currently listening to.

Glad to open the horizon a bit. :)
I have listened to Cabin Pressure (and some of the other shows) for so many times now and I still enjoy them tremendously. Fun fact: Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the two pilots in Cabin Pressure. But the entire cast is just brilliant (as is John Finnemore's writing).

I skimmed through the comment and I didn't notice it, so I'll recommend the first 2 seasons of Prison Break. LOTS of twists and turns that you don't see coming, an intricate but fascinating plot (in later seasons it descends into farce, but here it's at its best).
And thanks for the GAs :)

recently i had a grand time watching the new punisher series. great stuff!
if you liked pulp fiction you might want to take a look at jackie brown and the kill bill movies.
sucker punch was both weird and cool.
also Léon (with portman, reno and oldman) was a real cracker back then.
the same goes for donnie darko.
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is one of the most memorable movies i ever saw. i think everybody should watch that rather sooner than later. there is in fact stuff to think about and lessons to learn in there about love and second chances and all that jazz. just watch it and you will understand.
if you like sweet action and don't mind paper thin story then john wick 1 + 2 are a good way to spend the evening.
magnolia is another one of these movies you have to watch since you can't really describe them.
i guess i've got a lot more on my list but my coffee is getting cold here. ;P

Sorry if has alredy been nominated but The Departed is really good (or the original HK version Infernal Affairs, almost same story, just the actors).
Pulp Fiction is a must, but Inglorious Bastards or Hateful Eight is great too (pretty much any Tarantino movie for me so...).
Fight Club, Lords of the Ring Trilogy, Gladiator, Braveheart, Road to Perdition, Fargo (movie, series is good to they say, i don't know), The Big Lebowsky, True Grit, Sin City... aaaa too many, i thinks this will be enough.
I don't watch series (i prefer anime) but Jessica Jones is really good and not the tipical "Marvel", it's dark and great, same for Daredevil (oh, the movie with Ben Affleck is great too).
P.S. Great list the one you made ;)

Thank You very much. I saw The Departed in one comment. But don't worry.
You confirmed, that is good movie to watch.
Jessica Jones is nothttps://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/l1xBG/train-cakeday-and-movie-and-series-problem tipical Marvel? hmm, i am not a fan of Marvel. But maybe i will see after Your words.
P.S. Your list is great too ;)

Happe cakeday, duszak!
No clue what you've seen and haven't seen, so I'm just gonna rattle some stuff off:

I haven't watched too much of anything lately, but some stuff I can recommend are:
Whiplash: Great drama involving an up-and-coming jazz drummer and his sadistic teacher. J.K. Simmons deserved his Oscar for this movie, and it gets much darker when you find out how the director wanted the movie to end.
Preacher: A show based off a 90's comic book about a preacher hunting down God with a vampire and his old girlfriend. I have some gripes about pacing throughout both seasons, but it's a decent expansion to the comics.
True Detective: Only ever watched the first season, but I still want to see season 2, just to see if I'll hate it like apparently everybody else. The first few episodes drag, but it gets much faster by the end of episode 4. It's an interesting character study, and both leads deliver excellent roles.
Oldboy: I've only seen the 2013 remake, but I think you could watch either version and be alright. It's about a man who gets kidnapped for years on end, only to be released without warning, and he seeks revenge. Both versions have interesting bits, and the ending will make your jaw drop.

I watched Interstellar. It is very interesting. Before I watched, I had though that it is too long. Now I think it is masterpiece.
I heard about Sully, but I don't have a time go to cinema :( It must be good movie.(director:Clinta Eastwood and actor Tom Hanks)😀

Hello everyone!!!
Today, I have a cakeday 😀So I decided to make a train.
Christmas and break in college are coming .I would like to watch some movies and series in this time.
I don't know which. I have my own list of the best movies and series. But I would like to know new movies and series.
Recently, when I watch a new movie/series, it seems boring to me compared to the films/series on my list.
Do You know great movies and series?
This is my list. (random order)
1 Good Will Hunting
2 Gran Torino
3 Dead Poets Society
4 A Perfect World
5 Birdman
6 Boyhood
7 Pulp Fiction
8 The Fault in Our Stars
9 Shutter Island
10 Twin Peaks(Only one serie xD I think, that better series don't exist)
Let's solve my problem and enjoy my train!
