Does Fanatical employ a Telepath to bring you precisely what you long for, or are these games you'd Dread to even think about?
Games that fit a niche often tend to get a higher rating simple because only people who are interested in them in the first place buy them unlike some AAA games that got so hyped that even your non born child will play and rate it negative because it has no hands to play it and the developers should had taken that into account.

It's a recurring theme that all games - but the cream of the crop - fall in reviews after being bundled. Not having that price tag as entry level makes it more accessible, but that in turn allows people with no real interest and understanding of it to review. It's such an interesting phenomenon, really shows games that universally loved

I think that's partially correct. Cheaper access would lead to more common reviews.
But for Steam itself, that's probably not quite right since the whole "games received from keys/gifts do not count in the overall rating". Those reviews can still be useful to warn people, of course, but won't change the overall status at the top.

Depends where you are looking at, sure the percentage at the top of the store page and on this table is like this but if you look down and hover over the text by reviews you will receive a percentage for your selected languages including everything if you selceted this as well.

Which is valid but I did mention the top specifically. Just mainly off what I expect most (not all) behaviors.
If you browse the store frontpage looking for deals or use searches, only the top score will matter when you hover over the game. I'd wager most initial decisions are decided at that step for the average consumer. And I think this matters more for smaller games than larger ones. For better or worse, it protects them more than it would harm them.
To take an example from something awhile back, Hokko Life from the January 2023 Humble Choice
At the time of that thread, it was 73% of 1235.
Currently, it is 71% of 1603 overall. It's barely hanging in there, but still squeaking by with a mostly positive.
Meanwhile, with only English language filter, it comes in with a 67% of 1309 (Mixed) | 68% of 2314 if all languages | 56% of 345 if English + non Steam only.
So if I was someone looking for some random casual farming life game to try, the storefront and search are going to show me that Hokko Life is mostly positive. That's more likely to get me to at least look at it versus if the Mixed was displayed. And for some people that's good enough for them to just go for the purchase.
There's other cases that can also muddy perception, take something like No Man's Sky. 77% of 221374..but if we limit it to the last year(since Jan 1, 2023), it's 90% of 18031.
So bringing it back to the OP of this comment chain as well as the comment I replied to, this begs the question.
Are the ratings useful?
I'm aware there's no real answer as this is a case by case thing. But I wanted to provide some additional things to think about.
But for myself, I kind of keep it simple. Overall score, seeing if the recent score lines up, and a good number of reviews. Easy to see and at the top. If something else about the game propels me to read further past that, I will. But look at things like this bundle, 15 games. If I give every game the level of scrutiny I did for my Hokko Life example, I'd lose a lot of time for minimal benefit. There are surely times I've missed some gem with this mindset, but there are always more games to play.😅

On the one hand i feel sorry for mentioning something you tried to exclude (i had not noticed) on the other hand i would not had received an answer that reflects my general view on the topic, so i am not realy sorry about it... i hope you can forgive me ;).
It is also something i tried to say with my initial answer to the OP.
AAA games attract on average more people who may not be the target audience.
Indie games attract on average more people who are the target audiance.
Which in turn is reflected in the percentage and does not necceseraly mean that a lower or higher percentage alone speaks for the quality of the content and/or product (objective or subjective) if you only compare that without context.

haha it's fine. It made me reconsider my position if nothing else. I do find it to still be a generally useful metric at a glance, but I now think I have to factor review count more strongly.
Forgive Me Father with a 86% of 1956 non Steam key reviews vs Warman with a 90% of 52. Assuming I don't dislike their base genres, chances are Forgive Me Father is probably worth giving a chance over Warman since more people have tested it and it's still holding strong. Whereas Warman could get like 4 bad reviews and it's pushed out of Very Positive, which is what already happened to AETHERIS. I think that's the takeaway from bundles like this that get relatively unknown things in based on "very positive" status.
None of this is foolproof, but it can at least help reduce time spent looking in depth at each title.

I allways find it disheartening when games receives negative reviews from people who are clearly not interested in it in the slightest.
Like "To much to read if i would like to read i would had bought a book" for a gamebook for example and as you said it is more common to found these after a game got bundled.

I'm just glad to have zero interest in titles I don't have...

6/15 owned in my case. I can not say it is not very bad one. Although for me there are lack of game/games I would really really want - If you looks one the reviews it looks good, but when you look on number of reviews and material for the game it looks for me blank and not games for me (just good reviewed but I have doubts about games). Logic tells me not buy. I will check games more deeply before bundle end (if i found some worthy + GAs) but for now it is skip :)
EDIT: maybe 3 or 4 looks like I could try, but still not convinced:). Unfortunately logic not always wins in case of bundles;).

A decent bundle.
If you do a group split for the games you already have to lower your average price, it's worth a buy for sure.

If you dont want it, I'll take it

I'd rather they have removed all of the repeats from the bundle and halved the price. But this was to be expected since killer bundles have been repeat heavy at an expensive price for a while now. There'll probably still be at least one more decent bundle before bundle fest is over with

That's a hefty list of quality games. The one on there I want and don't own is Airborne Kingdom, so it's a skip, but the overall quality is undeniable.

Did they tease this at all? I had no idea another bundlefest was coming.

It's just their usual BundleFest schedule:

Only want Airborne Kingdom from this. In hindsight I should have bought T2 or T3 of Humble If You Build It - Cities & More Bundle.
