I am gonna possibly grab Aion on Tuesday because they are adding a FREAKING MECH CLASS. HELL YEA.
I have played a ton of F2P mmos. Currently I am playing Aura Kingdoms, but its very "Animu". Neverwinter is decent but the combat gets stale fast. Champions Online is fun if ya like Super Heroes but lacks zones so once you cap out alts are boring. DCUO is pretty good but again lacks zones.
Aion looks decent but I havent played it in like a year. Rift is basically WoW but with a bit more class customizing. Dragons Nest was a blast but is more dungeon crawler then open world MMO. RoboCraft is fun but its more an Arena Shooter (I made a youtube vid here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a93xcQxiecg).
I would stay away from EQ/EQ2
Dragons Prophet is also fun but buggy as shit haha If you want a Diablo 2-esqe game then hit up Path of Exile.

DON'T
YOUR LIFE IS WORTH MORE THEN THAT.
DON'T
DO
CRACK.
Come on, theres artsy, clever, funny and competitive games out there beyond mmos! Games that don't demand your soul and half your life! Some of those are free too! How about some Team Fortress? Theres community! Customization, with HATS! And theres crafting as well, without dumb farming and grinding! And theres 'raids' everytime, everywhere!

May i present you the best F2P game ever then!
Its called... RPG. The real deal. Its not videogames that try to be like rpg missing the whole point, its... pure 100% rpg like you never seen before.
Its also the best co-op games out there; You can play it in local co-op or online (theres a bunch of software for that), with dozens of f2p worlds, classes and such to choose from- theres also the p2p worlds, but you know whats amazing? Only one friend need to buy it(or you guys could share the cost) and everyone gets to play.
-more immersive then skyrim or witcher
-more open then everquest next
-so many classes and options, so freaking many that no amount of wow or dlcs of all bethesda games together get even close. Also the dlc normally are free.
-You can actually pause mid-action if needed be.
-NO GRIND.
-NO FARMERS!!
-NO HACKERS!!!
-No 'server is full' or down either
-You could actually get a girlfriend, and female players are really female(most).
-No more waiting for raids or repeating the same bosses.
-If you really don't like something you can talk in the face of the 'dev', even punch him in the face if you feel like it(but that would probably lead to changing to another world and players after).
There you have it.

That reply was cute...I've been DMing a consistent campaign of DnD for 13 years now and if you think table top or pen and paper rpgs dont have grinds you've never had a good dungeon or forest crawl. You better believe people farm in RPGs if they want something (someone sees an anime an suddenly needs wolf pelts for his mercenaries). And hackers..oh boy google pun-pun if you think you can't hack an RPG.

It doesn't need to be. There's an English patch that translates everything and besides, PSO games have been notorious for being left far behind the Japanese release in their international releases. I don't even think that the English version of PSU ever got all the content. There's really no reason to play the English version anyway, if it even ever comes out.

I'm trying some of them until Blade and Soul finally comes to Europe (I have tried a beta and i fell in love)
And i'm also waiting for Monster Hunter Online (F2P) and Black Desert (These graphics can't be real for a F2P game).
I'm starting with Dragon Nest and RaiderZ but... Let's see...

I'm assuming you only want MMO's that are english. The only ones I can recommend right now would be:
Both are decent games with a crafting system (also both aren't pay to win), however I don't really play MMO's much anymore. Currently waiting on some Chinese/Korean MMO's, if you'd like me to list them as well just reply.

Korean MMORPG is a pretty good one... (doubt there's actually any named that, though many Korean MMOs are of good quality.)
I enjoyed Dragon Nest.
I've heard Vindictus is good. And I heard Tera is good at some point, but haven't heard anything about it in a while.

It feels like fallout the mmo at first. lots of things to do and level in that game combat switches between melee and ranges easy enough. Cars are a major part of the game as is crafting. The community however is so bad its driven me away twice.

First off I love this community which is why I'm asking here. You guys are great and between the lot of you it seems you know the internet like the back of your collective hand.
I'm looking for a new MMO but its going to have a few elements or I wont get hooked. First thing though it has to be Free to play. I like cryptic's game model of f2p (you can earn the pay currency pretty easily) but the specific mechanics of the currency aren't as important as the game not being Pay to Win. What I mean by this is there shouldn't be a plateau where you can't experience parts of the game without paying, I mean dungeons with gear scores too high to reach without paying or half your abilities don't unlock. I could care less if I can earn the currency easily enough or the majority of pay stuff is just convenience/cosmetic.
And the second thing is I loves me some crafting. I don't know why but a robust crafting system hooks me and keeps me in a game.
Thanks for the read
tl;dr want a new mmo, should be f2p and not suck, also has crafting.
