I haven't tried counting, but it feels like a huge pile of Steam's English-language visual novels are both dating sims and very shallow... :( We're slowly getting the "real" stuff on Steam, though... :)

Oh, I don't mean "real" as in every visual novel made in Japan is magically better, but comparing "professional" visual novels made by people who need to pay salaries vs. homemade indie greenlight stuff made by people who said hey, I bet I could do that... :) I'm sure most of the homemade stuff in Japan is bad, too... :)

If you ever buy bundles, you eventually end up with extra copies of games, so giving those away is one way to get more levels... But I think you only get 15% of the store price for a bundle game, so it could take longer than you might think at first... :)

Yes, reading is fundamental... :) Think of the poor clowns, trying to win a game they would never even install if they won... Assuming they would even receive the game, of course... :)

Indeed, I hope to see more remove themselves, but so far only a few have done it... Some people are double clowns, entering both giveaways, but I'm too lazy to make any special note of them... :)

I was hoping to play it myself, it sounded good... :) But I decided to give it away after spotting this. But the voiced version wasn't in the giveaway list. :( And when it was added I was too late...

Well, judging from the Steam store, it would be easy to think "visual novel" = "cartoon boobie girls" and nothing more... :) But that's just lazy people chasing the easy money... :)

I haven't played G-senjou no Maou myself, so I couldn't tell you what sort of game it really is, but it's an all-ages version of what was originally an "adult" visual novel. The Steam version has had the naughty bits removed. I don't know if that's a big deal or not. :)

When people say Steam is full of lazy, garbage, copycat, imitation, knockoff visual novels, and that it doesn't have any of the "real" ones, Clannad is one of the "real" ones. :) It's not a boobie game. :) I wouldn't want to spoil anything, but if you play you will find some happy parts and some sad parts... And hopefully some more happy parts... :)
