Free Weekend games

I have played some free weekend games and steamgifts tells me that I already have the game when I don't.
I guess this system is based at your gameplay list, not at the games list in your account. Someone have the same problem?
I have already deleted the game, too.

It's common issue. Did you try to resync?

You have to wait 2 weeks for it to move off of your recently played list before you can resync and enter the giveaways again.

VALVe really should fix this issue. I wonder if they're even aware that it's a problem?

The card drops are based on the money you (or someone else) paid for the game. So no, you dont get any cards for free games.

Was looking for a solution to this and found this thread. Sorry if this is a unecessary bump, but I do have some potentital info on how it works. Maybe it'll help someone doing a search in the future?

Just tried to entered an Awesomenauts giveaway, think it's been a free week for that game currently with 2 days left. I have not played it at all or installed it whilst it's been free and have been able to enter giveaways for it all week up until today. Can't now enter the giveaway.

So it looks like if something is on your games list for long enough whether you play it or not you're still out of luck when it comes to entering. Not saying it's purely based on time. Playing the game might instantly make you unable to enter, I don't know, but time on your games list seems to be a factor.
