Imagine there's no monthlies, it's easy if you try
This month's early unlocks...
Just kidding, of course. For the first time since subscribing, I've not immediately unlocked the next month. Hopefully something good (and on Steam or DRM free) will be revealed for the actual early unlocks before May 25th. I'm reticent about skipping though... will it doom me to simply more blatantly-ignoring-what-was-subscribed-to bundles down the line...?

Thank you for posting, Sensualshakti and have a nice Sunday! :D
Non steam for Destiny 2? How incredibly common and cheap and this will be surely hitting their sales, but not in a good way.. ^^
Comment has been collapsed.
I wonder if people would say it's a great early unlock if it was a Steam key for Destiny 2. In fact I am pretty sure they would. Amazing what kind of influence it has which kind of launcher the game uses...
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure, people complain about the microtransactions. People also bought the game like crazy. It even made the news of being Activisions biggest PC launch in history. It sold who knows how many million copies. There's clearly a market for games like that. PC gamers like this kind of game (grindy shooters, proven also by the success of Warframe and others). You cannot tell me that nobody on here has any interest in the game. This thread is almost 100% negative about the game. That just doesn't add up. You would normally find a fair share of positive comments. Of people who look forward to trying it. Not here. Why is that? The only reason that makes sense it that it is not for Steam (which is what everybody is complaining about). I honestly find that sad. People should enjoy games no matter the platform. I mean, it's just a freaking launcher. This reminds me of how people hated Quantum Break when it first came out on Windows Store. People hated the game for it. They ignored it. They showed their hate by crushing it on metacritic. Well, as soon as it was on Steam people suddenly started to like it. Now it has 85% positive ratings there. (and no, the technical issues were certainly not the main factor, even if they might have played a small role). Anyway, I am absolutely convinced if Destiny 2 was on Steam it would not get nearly as much hate as it does now in this thread as an early unlock.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure, Destiny 2 may have sold many copies. But IIRC many people were disappointed about the game and stopped playing it.
Of course i'm only going by what i personally heard/read about it and i don't play multiplayer games so i don't care about Destiny 2. ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't care about the game either. That's not what this is about for me. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
i think Activision has sold bunch of copies, but people just got out of this game, now they want new people to try it and expect bunch of sales with dlc, would be really fun and awesome that they will see that not much new people camed even with that and they tried release game after on steam, i think they would really only gain everything since the main auditory bought game.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well yes, they would sell more copies for sure if they released on Steam. I think this is more about expanding the customer base for their own client (which is understandable, I don't blame them).
Comment has been collapsed.
For me, the rub is in the fact that I was sold on a subscription with Steam games. I'm not really interested in Destiny 2, but it's not a terrible unlock (apart from the already belabored microtransactions, overtly grindy endgame, and patched-in reduced features talking points). So, yes, it's because it's not on Steam, but only because that's what I was sold. (I intentionally picked actually good games/DLC in my just-a-bit-earlier sarcastic post. They would be great unlocks!... if we weren't promised something rather different.) The breaking of trust there is what has me sour, not that the game isn't for Steam.
Comment has been collapsed.
This. Because where will it lead? Playstation games? Software? Mobile games? Ebooks?
Comment has been collapsed.
Do you honestly think that is likely to happen? Right now we got a PC game for PC gamers. It is more than a long shot to assume they would suddenly throw in games their customers can't use in their premium bundle. Just doesn't seem likely at all. And I also don't believe the fear of getting Playstation games in the future is the real reason for people for being pissed off.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, probably not. But I also didn't think Destiny 2 would be a headliner when they clearly stated all games will be Steam games (or the drm-free originals).
And they do run console, mobile, software, ebook bundles on their site as well.
The reason I am pissed off is that Humble isn't delivering what they sold me. I think that's reason enough, because if I pay somebody ~120 EUR once a year, I want to be able to trust that they don't bait-and-switch.
Comment has been collapsed.
And they do run console, mobile, software, ebook bundles on their site as well.
Sure, but do you get software in an eBook bundle? Or console games in a PC bundle? No, you don't. So there really is no reason to believe they would do that to the monthly. Going from PC games to other PC games for another launcher is quite different from suddenly putting non-PC games in the bundle.

Sure, if you really feel that way that's a valid reason to be pissed. I just can't believe that, based on this thread, almost 100% of the customers are pissed because of this reason. So pissed that they choose to not buy the bundle / pause their sub. No, I don't buy it. It's hard to find a good example for what I mean, but let me try: if we had been promised to not get any Activision games in the monthly some years ago, and now suddenly we get Destiny 2 for Steam - I bet that wouldn't piss off nearly as many people as now that we're getting Destiny 2 for battle.net. Stupid example, I know. I am trying to say I really believe the reason for most here is not that Steam keys were promised, but that they want nothing but Steam keys. Or let's try this way: if this promise if Steam keys didn't exist, people would be pissed anyway, because it's a non-Steam game. I am almost certain about that.
Comment has been collapsed.

Well yeah, that's the point we're arguing, and to me it's not so different at all: we got a non-Steam game in a Steam games bundle. They changed the description from (paraphrased) "all games have Steam keys" to "all games have Steam keys (with some exceptions)" after the fact. It's a PC games bundle now (and It was a Steam game bundle until last week), they might just add some software and change it to "all titles are games (with some exceptions that are software)" when people start complaining. To me, it's not that different at all.
Like I said elsewhere, to me, it's more like entering a giveaway on Steamgifts and getting an Origin key. Sure, it's against site rules too, but I would be annoyed not only because of the rules. And sure, I can play Origin games as well; doesn't matter though when I entered for a Steam key.
But you might of course be right and the majority are pissed because Destiny, and not because of the bait-and-switch. We won't find out until a representative sample all speak up, I guess ;)
(For the record, I'm not skipping the month. A big part of that is because I want to be out of my yearly sub ASAP, especially now that I know they can just change the contents I signed up for if they feel like it.)
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure, I understand that. The thing is, if people weren't so restrictive and focussed on Steam only, they wouldn't even mind. It's a PC game for PC gamers. A relatively new, critically acclaimed AAA game. As you said, it's a decent unlock, even despite the microtransaction stuff. The reason people are so angry is not that they were sold something else, it's that they want Steam games only and want to ignore all other launchers. A game is worth less if it's not on Steam, apparently. Not worth playing it if it's not on Steam...
The breaking of trust there is what has me sour, not that the game isn't for Steam.
If you say that's your true and only reason, then I believe you. I am still convinced that I am right for the majority here. I think I read enough comments that point in that direction.
Comment has been collapsed.
See, my impression is that the majority is sour because of the breaking of trust. But I may of course be biased because that's my reason.
There's nothing wrong with battle.net, there's probably nothing wrong with Destiny 2 either. There's everything wrong with selling me a Steam key and not delivering a Steam key.
If you win a giveaway for Witcher 3 on this site and you get a GOG key, that's not what you expected either, no?
Comment has been collapsed.
See, my impression is that the majority is sour because of the breaking of trust. But I may of course be biased because that's my reason.
I don't know, I had the impression there were lots of people basically stating "no steam, no buy". But of course my own bias might influence my impression. xD
Comment has been collapsed.
well, many people expect steam keys and DRM how it was listed in humble statement, here we see 1st exception, ofc people do not get what they were subscribed for.
regarding quantum break, mostly those who hated, keeped hating it after release even in steam i suppose, but since it launched steam with normal price new people started to try it and they liked it.

What's wrong with battle.net? Works fine for me. I don't notice any difference ingame, no matter which of the two launchers I used. ^^
Comment has been collapsed.
now, some rumours coming that BO4 will be only in battle net, which can be really true :(
Comment has been collapsed.
The problem it's not with the game itself, the problem about not being a steam key, has to do with the fact that when I bought a year subscription, I was buying steam keys. Now, how can I trust HB that any other game in the monthly will be non-steam key? I didn't payed for non-steam games, and that is the problem.
Comment has been collapsed.
They never promised quality, neither by numbers, nor other way. And just as a reminder, they already had Shoppe Keep at the time it was clear that it's abandoned and mediocre. And that game is half assed, while idk what people expect of Destiny 2. No endgame? Though luck, MMO or not the whole bloody bundle costs 12$, how much gameplay time is enough for a game that one get fo 2-3$?
Comment has been collapsed.
Pretty sure they promised high userscored titles (which made everyone question that one "mostly negative" title at one time). Trying to find it I can only see them promise 'Top-notch PC titles', which still is some form of quality assurance, weak as it is.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, the meta-score is pretty high. Since there are no user scores on Battle.net, that's the only number we have. You certainly can't go by user scores on metacritic, as 95% of those people didn't even play the game and just rate it 0/0 because they read something about microtransactions. So, if they promised high scores, you could argue they still kind of kept their promise with this game.
Comment has been collapsed.
User scores are always difficult, especially in games. People vote a game down without even owning it, just because it is published by XY. They vote it down because of all different kinds of reasons, most of which have nothing to do with the actual game. ^^ I prefer Steam user reviews, because people have to own the games. But even then you have the same problem. People vote down for the most stupid reasons. So I go for single reviews and try to find out the pros and cons. It just happens too often that a decent game gets shit on by users to really trust them. Critics try to be objective. That is, for instance, why they rate Call of Duty games relatively high (let's say 70-90) while user scores are super low (<40). Users are not honest. They are not objective. Critics rate Call of Duty games so good, because they are actually not bad games. You can complain about getting more or less the same game every year and about how streamlined the experience is and about a hundred more things. But in the end you have to admit that CoD games are at least ok for what they are. And user scores don't come close to reflecting that. They reflect a general hate towards CoD/Activision, but have little to do with the actual quality of the game. They are not objective. They aren't reasonable scores. This is why we actually can't trust user scores. We can trust certain user reviews (I am a big fan of user reviews and wrote quite a few myself). But not the scores alone.
On a sidenote: I didn't read any reviews before I saw The Last Jedi. Didn't even know how it was received by others. I went in completely blind (as I like to do with all movies). And I have to say I actually really liked it. It was not the best SW movie ever, but it was certainly better than SW7 and probably better than all of the 2000s movies. :)

You would have a point if not most Steam "reviews" are upvote 'Executable missing 11/10 IGN Lol'
It's entirely useless with many trash games getting positive reviews that just attempt to be funny.
And now that they ommit keycodes and just allow Steam-store bought copies to influence rating they're a complete joke al-together.
Is there an actual negative-rating CoD game that isn't Infinite Warfare?
Went in completely blind too, very first screening very first day. So it wasn't like public opinion was even out there.
So many regrets.

Yeah, but that's exactly my point. Does't matter if I talk about dishonest downvotes or you about dishonest upvotes - user scores are unreliable. Much more so than professional ones.
Comment has been collapsed.
I definitely disagree. Even IGN - as shitty as they are - are more reliable than user scores. And that meme is exactly that - just a meme. It's simply not true that IGN rates all games from big publishers 10/10. Just look at the bad scores of Metal Gear Survive (Konami) or Battlefront 2 (EA). If they were truly bought, like everyone is always saying, how do you explain that a publisher like EA (which so many people hate as the worst publisher ever and which is known for shady business practices) gets such a bad score for one of their most important blockbuster titles? Battlefront 2 got a 6.5, which is truly horrible for IGN standards. I personally don't like IGN. I don't use their website, I ignore their ratings. But If I had to choose between getting only user scores or IGN scores - yeah, I probably would pick IGN. At least I knew I'd get an attempt at an objective review. With user scores I always have to be very careful about the context, because they are not objective at all and too often influenced by personal feelings about the dev/publisher. Every CoD gets like a 3.0 or something on metacritic. I bet if the same game was released by another publisher and with another name, it would get at least a 6.0. That's why I think we have to be very careful with user scores.
User reviews (reviews! not the score) on Steam, written by people who own and played the game, can be helpful and informative. Absolutely. But you carefully have to look for those good reviews and ignore all the fake reviews, all the joke reviews and all the reviews that got published 5 minutes after release, just so they would be at the top of the list and gain the most attention.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can't really trust critics with important movies anymore. They rate them too high. Have to Wonder if they are all bought, or something.
The last jedi being the Best example
Comment has been collapsed.
It is the same as gamer reviews/critics, if the person writing the review/making a video about it gives it a bad review they'll just not be invited to any more early access to any games anymore, therefore it is in a way bought.
If you made reviews and you were truthful about the games, you'd end up out of a job within 1-2 games because games companies are not interested in the truth but they're interested in how much you can lie and hype up a game for dem sweet pre orders

I use Battlenet so it's not a big deal for me at all if I were to get it. The big thing about this is the HB monthly hasn't used any other launcher before besides Steam if I'm not mistaken. Now that they've brought Battlenet into the picture this opens up the door for other clients now such as Uplay, Origin, Bethesda, Arc, NCSoft and others as well to be in the HB monthly.
I prefer to keep things on 1 client if possible.

If they gave witcher 3 GOG only, everybody would be happy.
Destiny 2 is a game that basically failed. A lot of hype at the beginning, and a lot of complaints afterwards

Doubt it. I wouldn't be, and all the others that are unhappy not because of Destiny 2 but because of the bait-and-switch wouldn't be either.

No reason to be bad at trading for this one, there's a guy offering 7csgo keys for Destiny 2 EU (key's price is ~2$). You can get 10$ for Destiny 2 NA. That's a fair deal, in my opinion, from which you can get the rest of monthly games very, very cheap or even free in case of an EU copy.

I feel like June's hidden unlocks will have to be better than May's since May's were such massive disappointments and there's only so much they can afford to piss off their subscribers.
As for Destiny 2, I've already sold my key on Steamtrades and made most of my money back. I'm looking forward to making the rest of it back later in the month.

What about RU/CIS regions? Do we get Europe region locked copies or different one for RU+CIS?

Battle.net says they've got RU+CIS regions, but your post doesn't include one.

Destiny 2 PC Retail Region Definitions - This is for ACTIVATING the key i.e. your Battle Net account country needs to be in the corresponding region (Region 4 key for RU+CIS B.Net country account)
For PLAYING you just select your region at launch with no restrictions (EU can play on Americas/SEA & vice versa) i.e. every ACTIVATED copy is the same

Aren't UK BNET account seperate too ? (at least when it comes to gift cards)

Have you tried changing your battle account country?
Comment has been collapsed.
actually it doesn't matter what battle account region is so here is what you can do
1) contact the battlenet support and tell them that you traveled and will live in USA (so that your USA key work on you account)
2) try to trade you USA key with someone who has EU key.
Eventually account country doesn't matter at all since you can change the "game region" in the client with no issues whatsoever and it may change your currency but thats all.

i only see 10% off all Humble Store purchases , Share your Humble Store discount with a friend! , Access to the Humble Trove and thats all.
so where can i find key?
and if i want to send it to a friend how can i do it?

Well then you just go to Keys instead of Purchases and you'll find it there.
Note: Usually you can create gift links you to send to your friends, but with this Blizzard key you can only send the key, there's no create a gift link option. Also, be sure to check the region restrictions!

Well that's awkward. It happened to me that it was missing for the first 7-8 seconds when I load the page, but then it appeared.
The best way to sort that out is to contact Humble Bundle support, they are fast and very kind, but it's Sunday so you'll have to wait until Monday.

Did you go to https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly/p/may_2018_monthly and click "Download the early unlock" first?
I think they only give you a key once you do that (because you can no longer 'skip' this month's bundle then, if you have a longer subscription)

Other games are coming, around 6-7.
Now we only know about Destiny 2, but before the end of the Monthly (June the 1st), we might get some reveals (1-3 games), perhaps Friday.
June the 1st, all of the bundle will be revealed (7-8 games in total, including Destiny 2 and the other reveals if any).

If Humble's FAQ isn't clear enough, maybe Rachel's FAQ that is linked by OP will help.
You can subscribe until full bundle is revealed on Month's First Friday. Usually it's the same hour that Valve change it's daily deals.
After it's revealed, the new deal appears and you can't buy old one.

When will we see our second game? This is my first time subscribing

nobody knows, they keep revealing radomly recently. last time they revealed 3 games before the complete bundle was revealed.

I expected some reveals too, yesterday of even a week ago.
Though they might want to let us buy some thingies during the Spring Sale, which ends Tuesday the 24th, and then add some reveals the next day, Friday the 25th, a week before the end of the Monthly. So, no distraction for the Spring Sale, and they'll have data about the ones who paused and didn't unpause, the ones who paused and then unpaused, the ones who expected reveals this week and paused between yesterday and before the 25th (when you get auto-charged), the ones who didn't do anything and got charged, and the ones who bought it earlier.
