Which of these great games should I play next? (Update: Decision made!)

I picked Bioshock. One of my favourite games ever! I completed the original version as well as the Remastered version.

I'd say SOMA; it's a great Horror title, but it also had some really incredible moments that I don't have the heart to spoil here..

You can easily finish bioshock and witcher 2 in 10 days (both great games).
If you have limited time it might be not enough for mass effect - but if you are in mood for space-opera it's obvious answer.
Can't say about Dragon age - because I have to finish it myself but heard a lot of good stuff about it.

Talos is awesome.

I have only played a few games from this list but Dragon Age Origins was one of the games that made me go WOW after I started playing it and its gameplay is still very enjoyable. But given the time constraint, it might not be the best game to choose from the list. Although I haven't played the two telltale games in your list, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead Season 2, I would recommend that you play both the games, as it is likely that you will be able to enjoy and end both the games given the limited time you have.

Voted Mass Effect but only if you intend to play the whole trilogy. I played (and reviewed) Bioshock recently which was good but not as all time "FANTASTIC" as it tends to regarded....I think the sequel was probably a better experience for me.

Bioshock gets my vote, hands down.
It's one of my top ten games of all time.

You really, really, really need to play Dragon Age Origins. This game is a masterpiece and the graphics are still good to look at.

I vote for Soma, its pretty good game

Play The Guild II instead.

I voted for witcher 2 as i played it for the first time a few months ago and i felt in love with it even though i am not a fan of fantasy game.
Anyway i hope you enjoy whatever game you pick and your wife has a safe trip.

I want to scream "Ass Effect!"

But as your time is limited, and both Mass Effect Trilogy and DA Trilogy can take hundreds of hours in total - I'd say Bioshock and then Talos Principle.

I may be the only one here who wasn't impressed by Bioshock at all (yep, including the story), couldn't even make myself finish the game. On the other hand, you've got three awesomely written RPGs on the list (The Witcher 2 is my personal favourite), Soma can be played either as a "horror" game with hide-and-seek or as a walking simulator depending on your preferences, but it's still got a pretty intelligent and really creepy sci-fi story, and The Talos Principle is probably the best first-person puzzle game ever made (can't complain about narrative as well), so there's that (can't comment about Mad Max, haven't played it yet).

Anyway, if you are looking for quality narrative (as your list strongly suggests), I'd also recommend to pay attention to adventure games from your library, you've got quite a few outstanding ones (such as Oxenfree, Gemini Rue, Downfall, Memoria, Gray Matter, Contradiction, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 - not to mention some golden classics that you've maybe just played before Steam).
