Hello gamers,

We at http://www.DailyIndieGame.com are constantly trying to improve our service and bring the best possible deals.
We all know how bundles work. We pay a certain amount and get a pack of games, and that's pretty much it.

We are going one step further with the new DIG ACCOUNTS:

http://www.dailyindiegame.com/content_digaccount.html

You can topup your account, and purchase individual games of your choice from the DIG Point Store and from the DIG Trades marketplace.
The prices are often better than what you would pay in a bundle.

Everything is transparent, fair and simple.

Some notes:

  • You can also use your credit to buy bundles. You can trade your unused keys for DIG Points.
  • Keys from trades are guaranteed to work, just like with bundles. If a customer has revealed (seen) a key, it can no longer be traded.

We value your feedback and feel free to share your feedback with us.

Hello everyone,

We have now added STEAM account integration.
You can define your STEAM user id and opt to hide all games you own on STEAM (from both the trading section and DIG Point Store).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Works great. :D
Thank you very much!

Edit:
Everything more clear:
http://i.imgur.com/xhVyHQf.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/rttGsFG.jpg

And the best part is the linked method, because you can change the ID whatever, useful to check also secondary accounts. For sync again after any purchase, you need to go again to profile and save, I think some quick menu link to sync would be great.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No need to go to your profile after a purchase :)
Thanks for pointing out that oversight. Syncing is now happening automatically when you click HOME or you are being taken to the homepage.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

won't it be more correct to do check on dig store/trade keys click?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, being able to check alt account is nice !
Now about implementation, they could just accept a full profile link.
A single simple regex is not a huge amount of dev work compared to the retrieving/synching page part...
Also, they could accept SteamID links too, not only vanity ID...

Hi, I'm assuming that you want the Steam 'name' that shows up in the Steam client next to the wallet amount.

For me that's an email address and I'm guessing the @ or something throws your system for a loop as it shows all games (430) and doesn't filter the ones I own.

I've also tried entering my Steam Community name and my Steam Community ID, neither works.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

they need your community id, not username you use to log in

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's not what their page says though:

- DO NOT ENTER the entire STEAM link to you profile. Just your username (Ex: CoolGamer478)
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

it's just a wrong wording. noone is able to see your actual username, so there's no point in asking for it since you can't do anything with that (except login into steam)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Except that's your only username unless you've set up a custom one in your profile, so both can work.

not immediately, but i'll add tags to known non-sg-giftable games on the chart here to make it a little easier to avoid certain titles specifically for gifting purposes. however like exosyphen said it won't be automated, and will be subject to change at any time. We are working/investigating/testing a NEW feature and would love to hear feedback from you.

We want to allow you to upload STEAM keys for trading, that are obtained from outside DIG.
It will be a separate trading section from our current one.

Some things we considered so far:

  • Trading will be for DIG Points which you can spend for anything else on our site. No payouts in cash.
  • There will be a rating/feedback system in place for seller credibility.
  • There will be some limits in the number of keys you can upload for trade.
  • You have to have an account with us and a purchase record, so it's not a wide open service.

The idea is to allow people to exchange a few unused keys for something else at a personal scale.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I would love that idea - as I like the trading system you have, and more games would be good - but I worry that codes ending up in giveaways here may only be found as being bad after the giveaway has ended and a bit of time has passed by - could cause issues if there is no way of catching bad people quickly - but again, I do like the idea - perhaps for immediate use on own account or something, that way any issues would be flagged immediately ?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That is why there will be limits and a rating/feedback system.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

gonna play devils advocate, and no I am not being nasty, but have you seen steamtrades? - they have a feedback system as well and it's like the wild west in there - so bad that I avoid it like the plague :P and I love DIG so hope for it working better for you :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Please do :)

As mentioned, jut signing up for an account and putting keys up for trade is out of the question.
There will be some limits like no more than $5 worth of keys at one time, a holding time for the funds, etc.

Over a certain threshold of bad trades, the service will be suspended for an account. And since accounts are tied to the PayPal email and having a purchase history, signing up for new accounts won't be that easy.

I am still designing this so any feedback is very valuable.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

liking the thought so far - will there be a option to trade for DIG points directly from you/DIG - might help push the trading factor if we can build up dig points or bonuses for good trades if using the funds from the trades to purchase your products - could bring in people with just a few keys to swapout in trades for DIG games etc...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hello,
I think it's a good and bad idea at a time, are you really up for it? I personally buy a lot, so I see good to have points directly, but it is an added bonus to take care of for you.

  • I see that you have to select the game, maybe it would be better to put id of the game/pack. Or something like Steam Card Exchange search: http://www.steamcardexchange.net/index.php?showcase
  • I think a 15% commissions seems a bad idea, Kinguin has 11% and G2A 10.8%, both cases with an additional 0.35€, but both cases with real cash. In fact, I think putting commissions is a bad idea having those options.
  • Put some limitations to allow to sell, I see it well.

And I would like to participate in the testing phase. ^^

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There will be a drop-down list with game names to make it easy.
The fixed $0.35 makes a deal far worse than a 15% fee. We are targeting cheap games.
15% is smaller than $0.35 + 10% on all trades if you look at the current prices on our trading section.

If you want to participate, send in a contact form ;)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

For lower prices, 15% if better, yes. The point is that, unlike other options, they are unique points to use there.
In my personal opinion, I think that isn't an option to take into account, at least for sellers.

Contact form sent.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

YES! This is too good an idea not to do. The only thing which is probably a must is to define a minimum purchase to be able to use the system. Spending 30 cent is probably not sufficient. I think $5 would be a reasonable minimum.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You are right. The system is not targeted at and will "discourage" high volume / amount sellers, as the idea is for a gamer to be able to trade say 3 games he got from a different bundle and use the points to get something else instead.

Ex: You want a game from our DIG Point Store that's 20 cents. You have 2 keys from a different bundle site, and you trade them for 10 cents each to get your desired game.

That is the price / volumes we target.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It might be nice to allow trades of up to $1 or maybe $2 each, for the nicer games from "BTA" or second tier bundles.

I could see trading one or two of those games for points to trade for one of the games from a $12 monthly bundle.

If you don't allow the points to be redeemed for cash, then I doubt you'll get many people trying to make big profits.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You can go that high, no problem at all.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I think it would be a good idea to post a topic on this subject, so that anyone sees this and reacts to it.
It is a good idea to be as protected as possible from the start from malicious people (sellers but also buyers) and you will probably get a lot of useful suggestions doing so.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

We consider to limit the number of open trades you can have at a time to something like 5.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

will it just be the current commission fees taken after a completed trade or will there be listing fees added for externally added steam keys?

edit: way more important question
how will people identify me? i do not want my paypal email address to be my trade username and there isn't any form of profile for identification otherwise.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There will be a different fee (15%, ONLY if and when the trade is being made).
This is because points are purchased with PayPal/Credit-card/etc and bear a fee. In case of selling bundles or keys on the DIG Point Store, we have the fee covered in our pricing. This doesn't apply to external keys. Makes sense?

Here is the FUN part. There will be NO information displayed about who is making the trade, ONLY the rating, like in current trades.
Why? because this way it is almost impossible to give a good/bad rating fraudulently.

have to klick on each and by them seperatly

Calculate? You have nearly 5k games. I think not, if you hide all games you already have, you will need to calculate anything. I saw hundreds of games on my page... patch came out... hide all games I have.... I do only see 2 games I do not have -.-

Quick things I could do (even today):

  • Display the total cost of games displayed (all games, ones missing from your STEAM account).
  • Make a 1 click on OK confirmation quick buy for one key (without going through the confirmation pages). This would allow to purchase each game with 2 clicks on the same page.

Thoughts?

Pretty good. Just tried it out and bought 82 games for $5. I would appreciate a way to buy in bulk rather than 1 by 1 and I'd like to see, which ones are already in my library if possible. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the purchase :)

You can already go to your settings and put your Steam vanity name. (+filter out owned game)
Also, I read they are going to implement a fast buy button to buy one key for each not owned game.

Also works (better) with your STEAM numerical ID

It seems like DIG is glitching for me since a few days. Sometimes the "DIG Point Store" section doesn't display any games, sometimes the "Trade STEAM keys" section doesn't display any games, sometimes bought games don't display on the account page (as example I bought Tomb Joe from the "Trade STEAM keys" section and it still didn't display for me, even though it took 15 points). It doesn't even show the Steam keys which I marked as used. Not exactly sure what's going on, but it's getting annoying.

Working to improve this.
We have grown a lot and our server is a bit at it's limit.

I am working on some optimizations so expect a fluid experience in a few days.

Expect your servers to explode when we can create trades with your new features ! and DoS from competitors
