Going to build a gaming PC for my gf and I need help with it...

We are aiming at Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU, but at the moment we are going to get only the essential parts for it.
So no SSD or $400 GPUs... Only the motherboard, HDD, CPU etc.
Why? Because her laptop(ewww) is dying fast...

TL;DR?
I need core parts for medium to high end PC. So the PC must be compatible with some great CPUs.

Size would be full tower.

I will check this thread in 9 hours...Sleep is for the weak...

Now seriously shove that AMD out of this thread!

I'm not going to buy cheap stuff for my gf.
Buying AMD for me is like buying fake diamonds for 75% from the real deal.

I had an AMD GPU in the past and there were nothing but problems. Sure it was cheap but it was still crap.
And I have read from forums that it's still that way. And processors? I have one right now and I want it out from my my computer.
It's really not meant for gaming... It's meant to heat up the house with extra cost....

EDIT. READ BEFORE POSTING

We are going for i5 4690K later and for now she's going to be stuck with G1840.
Case is still open as we need a case. It could be pink, red/black or anything really. She doesn't care that much about it.
Oh and a mobo+PSU and then we are good to go. We have a monitor, KB and mouse already.

THE CORE HAS BEEN ORDERED!

Thanks for your help! I have sent Invites to my GA group so don't be shocked(It has MTL in the name)It will be a little lighter on GAs than I was first planned but you might guess what's draining money...

Damn it Finland! I need to wait for 2 weeks before it arrives only because cases are stored only in a big storage....

I guess I'll just put it into the old case then... And change it later...

Why no SSD if I may ask.
Next to a good CPU and video card, having a SSD to run your operating system on is the biggest speed improvement you can get for a PC.

There are 2 builds:

  1. Celeron G1840+HD graphicsthing with 1TB HDD and 8GB RAM.

  2. i5 4690K+gtx 980 with 3TB HDD+120GB SSD and 16GB RAM.

The first one will evolve and it will become the 2nd.

I feel SSDs are not worth the price for the benefit they offer.

I didn't build it so I can't help you but I made sure that the one that did for me knew about what I needed :)
