Hello Steamgift family,

I'm looking for Xmas games, so I thought we'd collect them in this post.
I couldn't find a post about it yet, maybe I was looking in the wrong direction.

I bought this game here a while ago when it was on sale, but I haven't played it yet...so I want to play it now during the Xmas season.

Somehow the game reminds me of the days when there were those CDs in computer magazines that had different games and demos on them, in my case they were probably the ones from the early 2000s. I remember that there was also a similar game with Santa Claus in this form. So I'm even more excited to finally play this game because it feels like traveling back in time.

Back to my actual question, do you know of any similar games or rather Xmas games in general that you would recommend? Games that have nothing to do with Christmas but have a winter atmosphere can also be recommended.

Recommended games so far:

I know it's not much. But watching my steam list, I see Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage https://store.steampowered.com/app/265210/Viscera_Cleanup_Detail_Santas_Rampage/ and Sakura Santa https://store.steampowered.com/app/421700/Sakura_Santa/?l=spanish

I also know of Yuletide Legends: Who Framed Santa Claus https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174500/Yuletide_Legends_Who_Framed_Santa_Claus/

I would say that games that have nothing to do with Christmas, but have a winter atmosphere can be included.

In that case I would recommend a game sequel Im really looking forward to, which will release in late Jan: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2473480/Tails_of_Iron_2_Whiskers_of_Winter/
In addtion, there is this game that was developed from my childhood flash game. Gameplay not all that exciting tho since it was, well, originally a flash game. But it has a christmas themed map (maybe two, I dont remember): https://store.steampowered.com/app/270630/Haunt_the_House_Terrortown/

Chicken Invaders 5 - Christmas Edition: I used to play this series a lot with my roommate in college. I think most games of the series have local LAN play. We did play it all year round, before migrating to CS:S and LoL.
Online games often have Christmas events during this time.

The game isn't at all similar to yours,
but I'd recommend this very nice horror game to anyone who wants to break the Christmas spirit a bit :)

Darkside Detective has a side mission about Santa. I was saving it for this month. Theres a second mission that references him in his time off.

Coromon has a Christmas related achievement. If you play on December 25th, the Lux Solis campus will be decorated for Christmas.
If you check the Christmas tree, you get a Santa outfit that you can wear any time.

Achievement name/description = Santa Is Coming - Get the Santa outfit

Psychonauts also has a play on Christmas achievement. It's been a while since I played it but I remember it feeling cozy enough for a fun playthrough during the holidays, even if it didn't have much else to do with the season

I don't know any christmas-y themed one but for snow, some dreadful survival games - Frostpunk (okay not technically survival but you see what I'm getting at), Kona, Long Dark, The Wild Eight.

Honestly kind of the most winter thing that comes to mind is Bully. I just remember the winter/christmas section of the game a lot because of the snowballs.

I vaguely remember a 2d santa game, possibly with him wielding a bazooka, on one of those '1000 (mostly demo) games' discs, Cthulhu Saves Christmas was fun too

1st game that comes to mind is Cthulhu Saves Christmas, but can't recommend as I havn't played it.
Some of the Yakuza games also take place during Christmas time if that counts, I can definitely recommend those games.

Yakuza/Like a Dragon series.
Most of the main games take place around Christmas or New Year, so.

Everybody Wham Wham! Super cozy and wholesome to play during the holidays :)

Edit: also Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands! Not really Christmas themed, but a chill little snowboarding game that does feel a bit like a winter wonderland

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Project Zomboid has a really good weather system and atmosphere. I've watched so many video series where people do survival in winter. Out in the blowing snow, packed in safe in a cabin in the woods, skulking around a city during a snowstorm and hoping zombies dont hear your sneezes. Its great fun. AmbiguousAmphibian on Youtube has done a few playthroughs with different characters in the winter.
