You can't even create folders, you're stuck with their "conversations" thing, tags and whatnot. In addition to everything else that's wrong with Google in general, of course. No, thanks.

I use a bellsouth for my real mail, gmail for my semi-spam, and live for my complete spam

Well I mostly use gmail but since my University email account is setup through Outlook and all my professors will only reply if I send an email to them from my Outlook account...I am forced to use Outlook sometimes.

Because I don't want to get my mails read by others?

I have four Hotmail accounts (one main, one for SG, one for Xbox, one for a private alt) and two Gmail accounts (one I barely remember the password to, one SG related). After I made my first Gmail account, I preferred it, but after I while, I just moved back to Hotmail. It was just better for me. I prefer hotmail, even after the change to Outlook.
What's really pissed me off though, is Outlook forcing me to disable account linking. Fuck you, Outlook. I fucking know it's a goddamn security risk to have all of my accounts linked to each other, but I swap between every one of them constantly. I didn't fucking want to have to sign out and sign back in every five minutes.

of the 'big 3' gmail is the most 'professional' (outside of a company or @yourname.com)
Also gmail has the best spam and hack protection. I almost never get spam to gmail, but hotmail its constant. The filters are better.
I have nothing good to say about yahoo, if you are over 12 you should no longer use yahoo!
mho

I disagree. I'm on @hotmail, but would rank myself above the @gmail skills.

Thats rubbish, I use live mail (hotmail) and I have a BEng in Internet Technology. I've had the address for years and have had no reason to change to another account. I also have a gmail account mostly because I have an android phone and nexus tablet, but I rarely use that address.

Precisely why I stick with Microsoft. I use my Gmail for Android, but had it during beta testing. I've rarely used it, either.... and the new interface makes me even less likely to do so.

hotmail & gmail, no difference at all. moreover, hotmail has better folder structure and better web interface

I tried gmail a few years ago... took 3 days for a single fucking email to get to me. I abandoned it right then and there.

That's an issue your end, I'm a web developer myself, and I'm used to email stuff thanks to contact, newsletter email etc., and I can clearly say gmail is the fastest service on deliverance.

it happened multiple times, and checking on different computers/browsers obviously did nothing. how could it have possibly been on my end?

Maybe your mail server? After all, there are two servers being considered. Gmail and your end. Maybe gmail considers your email domain/the keywords that you've inserted as spam?

I wonder why people still use e-mail services other than gmail?
I know it's a pain to migrate to a new e-mail but still....
Why haven't you changed to gmail (in case you didn't)
