I sometimes do IF I have overflowing points

To developer giveaways, yes. I mean I'm not interested in playing right then and there. But I will eventually. First I need to finish my backlog of games I started before I even pick and choose the games I've never touched.

Every game on my Steam list has been or will be played.

I used to, mostly because of overflowing points. It feels like such a waste to see a 300 on the top...
I never entered for a game where i knew i would never play it, but i did enter giveaways for games that looked "kinda interesting".

I do admit I have done like the first week of my sg experience but then I was like, hey half of theses games I don't like so I stopped entering in them and now I have like 300p all of the time.

No, though if it is a bundle with a few games I might enjoy and others I will not touch I shall still enter. (its true most people do not play over 70% of their game library for over 30 minutes per game.

I do it for really really really long high value giveaways when I'm maxed out on points when there's not many games I'm interested in. I do that so I can keep points saved for if a bunch of games I want come on the site. The Darkness 2 sales, for example, made me pull points out of a couple Black Ops 2, a game I'm not interested in, giveaways so I could enter more of the Darkness 2 giveaways.

No, although if i really want something, i'd rather buy it.

It seems like a waste of time hoping to win something, I've seen some games that even as low as 1$ managed to get 1000 entries, i mean is it that hard to get 1$?

No offense but although i really appreciate the Steamgifts community, it seems to me that a lot of people here enter for games they don't seem to care about anyway.

There are some games that, while some people wouldn't mind having them, aren't interested enough to actually buy them, yet would play them quite a bit if they won it. I'll use one of my recent wins as an example. I've been entering giveaways for the Kings Bounty games. Now, I'd never really go buy them for myself since I don't know much about them, but they looked good enough to me that if I won one, I'd probably play it once I had the chance. I won, I forget which, not too long ago and once my bro, friend, and I get off of our Dungeon Defenders spree I'll probably play it to see how good it is or isn't.

As for a $1 game, I assume you're referring to Fortix, in which case it's just SG tradition to want to win it.

King's Bounty is pretty cool. Try the demo. If you're in a country which GamersGate Void service supports, you can also play the first game for free (ad supported).

There are quite a few games which are in indie bundles you can get for $1, and hundreds of people still enter them.

Yes. All the time. Where else would I put all these points?

No, I've only entered giveaways for games I genuinely wanted. Never saw much point in doing anything else.

Honestly, I do. I buy most games that I want rather than risking the chance of not having it on the chances of winning a giveaway. These giveaways give me a chance to win games that I wouldn't buy myself, and while it may take me a while to get to the games that I win, I will eventually play them all, and who knows, I may actually really enjoy the game, which I wouldn't have known if I didn't win it. I also have way more points than I could use to enter only games I'm specifically looking for, and I honestly feel like it would be a waste not to use them for the reason I previously stated.

I did only with Dota2 and The Ship so that I don't have to see em because of the feature that filters all the games you already have... not that it actually worked with dota2 seeing as I still have em on the lists :/

That's because you haven't actually played it.

Also, you have won two copies of DOTA 2.

No, i never enter for something i don't want to play. I think it's stupid that people enter for games just becouse they want to have a big number on their Library...

I always enter only for games that I'm interested in playing. Then again, I'm interested in playing a lot of games. That doesn't mean I actually get around to playing them right after I win. I've got a bit of a backlog when it comes to my games. When I say a bit, I mean a huge backlog.

I enter for games that in theory I'm interested in playing. In practice I'm pretty sure I won't play them any more than I play the games I buy. They're just there for when I retire, or the kids leave home, or I get bed ridden, or whatever will give me time to play.

No. I don't even have time to play games I'm interested in. Plus, why would lower chances of those who really want those games?

I entered dozens of Dota raffles with the sole intention of blocking until I learned how to do it properly, still a little guilty about it. Otherwise I only enter those I would really enjoy, there are plenty that look interesting and would play yet I don't commit to. I put a bit of consideration into it, as my PC isn't sufficient to run many of the newer games that is the first thing I check after an initial positive impression. As for some of the comments on points, I've never run out or felt the need to spend them, I haven't had to worry about them as I've always had enough when a game has caught my interest.

I don't, but the number of people who enter giveaways for games that are total junk tells me lots of people do.

Even if there ARE games that are junk, this really depends on the point of view, see CoD for example, I think that the most part of the series is crap, but for some reason many people buy it and think that it's a good game.
