https://corporate.nacongaming.com/en/press/the-sinking-city-steam/

Right now the game has 2 steam app IDs:

Frogwares: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1151760/

Nacon: https://steamcommunity.com/app/750130/

I think that If you have it on your wishlist it is best to remove it and add it to ignore list and wait for the situation to be resolved. The current version you can buy has no Steam cloud saves no Steam achievements no DLC and no updates and patches. It is basically a 1.0 version of the game that was sold on Epic a year ago so for me it is something like a beta version that people on Epic did paid to test out and find all the bugs.

EDIT:

Both the developer and the publisher are fighting in court over it. I don't know who to trust in that case so we will just have to wait and see I guess?

EDIT2:

Added new links to story from both sides as this game lunch starts to look like a train wreck.

EDIT3 (03.03.2021):

The game is now removed from Steam. This looks more and more like a big train wreck.

EDIT4 (03.03.2021):

Added more links. This is getting more and more ridiculous...

If someone wants to buy it, then the Fanatical store and the GamersGate store still sells Steam keys

I wonder who Fanatical bought the keys from.

From the publisher of the game (i.e. this is the version of the game from Nacon)

That's inviting the "key has been revoked" trouble imo. If Valve removed the game, it's probably because they are investigating the claims by Frogwares that the version they have in the store is stolen or that they have investigated it and verified the claims.

greenmangaming is the cheapest place to currently purchase it...

Fanatical already pulled the game btw.

Edit No longer available on GMG either :-/

Holy smokes, that was some ghastly behavior of that publisher. I hope this doesn't mean frogwares go bankrupt. 1 mil euro is after all quite a lot of money.

Never did play the sinking city, as it didn't really seem all that good, but I wouldn't want the dev to go under because of some shady publisher. They have produced some pretty decent sherlock holmes games that I've enjoyed.

I hope they come back stronger with a better title in the future.

I see the version on Origin is not affected by all that, there are also multiple dlcs for this game that are being sold on Origin too.

Game is really bland and boring anyway and you can see they got not enough money to finish the game

But this again from Nacon - version from EGS without steam integration.
750130 - stolen by Nakon from Epic
1151760 - steam version from developers

judging by the presence of achievement statistics, the game has integration with Steam

The question is will they ever be enabled or stuck in limbo like that? The unlock percentage of 0,1% for only the first three achievements is telling. I would hold on purchasing it for a while until we get some proper announcement

when I posted this link, there were only 2 unlocked achievements...

I think at this point either devs are messing with them or something. If you pay attention, you will notice that they are not unlocked in proper order (like completing every challenge is unlocked before unlocking some early story related achievements). Something is happening for sure

For comparsion look on achiev stats from developers copy
1151760 - https://steamcommunity.com/stats/1151760/achievements
and again from stolen nacon

Are you a developer? Have you seen the documents? Why stolen? Because you decided so? Or is it because from Ukraine?

This is official position of developers, also this act pending in court. More info https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYTSt5oOr5g and https://twitter.com/frogwares.

p.s. My nationality shouldn't worry you, it's gaming resource, leave politics and your premonitions overboard.

Oh my :D

Upd.
Frogwares from Ukraine. FuriousOverlord from Ukraine. Game has been stolen, but we can buy it on Steam. Again. Sounds weird :D
'politics and your premonitions' — when did the name of any country become a policy?
Not the first problems Frogwares has with the publisher. Protecting... looks like... kumivstvo (nepotism).

I give you link on primary source but you continue to use personalities. And now try to prove that you are not biased.

kumivstvo - a kind of spiritual kinship between godparents, aimed at caring for children.
nepotism - providing relatives or acquaintances with positions regardless of their professional abilities, one of the parts of political corruption.

Yesterday, an update was released for the game,
1) added support for the Steam cloud and Steam achievements
2) but at the same time it removed all the DLC from the game :((((((((

PS: although DLC was previously present in the game

You can buy a DRM-free Version at Gamnespnalet, also with all the DLCs - and the Publisher is not Nacon. Sadly, there isn't a big discount at the moment:

55 pound is overpriced as hell .. i would rather buy from steam without dlc... Also frogware took the Epic game bribe for not releasing on steam.. this is 3rd frogware has problem with a publisher

Man, I read about that on Steam!
I always try to see both sides of any story but damn, they are making it really hard not to see them as thieves and scammers when they screw people out of their money after "allegedly" screwing the devs out of the game.

The game is very good! I have it on Epic and have played it through. And I loved every minute of it.

So sad all this legal trouble. But the game is great!
