Field of glory II medieval (ended)

To play with real miniatures, you really need to be an enthusiast (i'm not to this point but respect).
But for the general audience, Slitherine released a serie of games inspired by these tabletop wargames with real figurines.
It's chess-liked turn-based battlefield (but much better, imagine you play chess with pikemen, crossbowmen and knights !!), you play one army and the goal is to make the other army flee by demoralizing it.
The rules follow common sense : easier to walk forward than backward, not so easy to turn a tight formation unit, archer can shoot above another unit but crossbowman cannot, you can charge with horses, etc.

As far as i know this serie is :

• Pike and shot about 15th to 17th centuries, and 30 years war
• Sengoku Jidai about Korea invasion by feodal Japan
• Field of glory II about ancient wars : Rome, Sparta, (Persia in dlc), etc. (and its relative FoG Empires with grand campaign but without playable battles - to play battles yourself you need both games, it closes one game and restart with the other one, so a welcome possibility but also quite laborious)
• Field of glory medieval, the most dynamic and colorful among these historic reconstitutions, about well medieval era (and crusades/reconquista in dlc), etc. The horses make a real difference here, they have an impact !
• Fantasy general II for the players who prefer heroic fantasy
