Yesterday, i was thinking about playing Skyrim again. I had bought it many months (maybe 2 years ago -not 100% sure but it was in 2013) from a trader. It WAS a cdkey, i paid him via paypal. I'm pretty sure he was a trustworthy trader cause im a really experienced trader and i wouldnt trade a cdkey if his rep wasnt really good since i know the risk of being scammed and i guess i know almost every way i could get scammed. Anyway, im going to download my game and i cant find it in my library. I had played about 45 hours in the past. Here i have to mention a weird thing; from the first day i bought/activated it and played it the game didnt show up in my games list, where you see how many hours of each game you have played. Another weird thing is; i bought 2 keys from the same trader, the other key was activated from a friend and he still owns skyrim. There's no sign in my account that i ever had skyrim, the only one is this . It's on my account details. Nothing else. Probably, it was a cdkey bought with a stolen card but here come some other questions like: if it was like this, wasnt i supposed to be informed that my game was revoked? i got no mail/notification or anything related, it just gone poof! and disappeared. And after so many months? wtf i had played it a few times already.. I feel like they broke into my house and stole my skyrim copy.

tl;dr -> skyrim missing from my library; bought it as a cdkey about 2 years ago; nobody informed me or anything; wtf valve?

edit#1: when i go here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/etze/stats/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim/?tab=achievements i get this

edit#2: Here's some more info. i HAVE a skyrim badge dated December 2013 + 45 hours on record. Here you go

"exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).

Delete all of the files in this folder except:

The Steamapps folder and Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)

Restart your computer and test the issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.

If the issue persists, please go to the Community tab in Steam and try adding groups or friends to this account. Once complete, please check your Library once more and make sure that you have the options set to "SHOW: ALL GAMES"."

In other words you are advicing a person A to look into person's B cellar, to find the reason for a change of A's account balance on the bank?
I think you need to understand how steam (and in fact all serversided databases work...)

dafuq did I just read :o
actually I had kind of the same situation , I got Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter from a guy and activated it , but I couldn't find it in my library ( I could see it in "Licenses and subscriptions") , I contacted steam support and they told me to do this , and this worked...

" I could see it in 'Licenses and subscriptions' "
Thats the difference between your and OP's case ;-) So my initial answer to you stays valid.

Yes , I know there is a difference between the two cases and that's why I mentioned it , and the OP will not lose anything if he tries this ;)

In fact he/she will loose something very important: A well defined amount of time trying to do something, that cant be the cause for his/her problem ;-)

If the OP won't have 2-3 minutes trying to get the game back , he doesn't deserve the game at all.

Wold you go and waste your time to , if your car is in your garage right now, just because your toaster wont start itsself? (Well, who knows, maybe, some ppl are that smart...)
But would it help your toaster to start itsself in any way if your car is there or missing?

Actually I am wasting my time reading your meaningless replies , I didn't say that it will work I said that I had a kind of the same situation and that solved it

You still did not get the point, right?
It is IMPOSSIBLE that your "solution" would be usefull in ANY possible way here from the begining on. So my initial answer to you still stay the same and valid. Your case has NOTHING to do with OP's case at all, because you were able to see your product under your licenses and there was just a problem with your client, and the OP is missing his/her licence at all, so he doesn't own the game anymore.

If you still cant see the difference, then i just feel sorry for you...

P.S.: The only "meaningless" commens here are yours, open your eyes and you will see that yourself

That might have had to do with Dustforce changing to Dustforce DX.

Your game is region locked. When you are in the wrong region it disappears from your library. VPN to whatever region your Skyrim is supposed to be, and you will see it again.

i thought exactly the same... could that be possible op? I mean, of course not using vpn, since it is not allowed, but, you know, you were in another country?
