Also bought the Origins Bundle from Fanatical in October 2018.
WHAT A BAD MOVE TO REVOKE ALL KEYS AT ONCE.
After like 3 years they figured out they got scammed, sure buddy.

I won a GA for this game that's now revoked. Should I create a ticket? I hate to open a ticket and add to a backlog if it's not needed.

Fanatical has a support page up about it now.

Apparently I activated my key 18 Oct, 2018. They sure waited a long time to do this? WTF.
This is Eye of Basir all over again. I'm not too keen on giving devs my email which is why I never got that game back on my account either... :V
EDIT
That timing though. April Fools is a bad time for serious business yo.

Think I'll wait until Fanatical gets more info out before bothering with the google form.
Sucks for them if they got scammed, but to then turn around and screw over many legitimate customers is a load of shit and idiotic way of going about handling the issue.
Comment has been collapsed.
2 and a half of year has passed and just now the developer says they were scammed.
Something does not ad up.
If I would sell anything and get no money for a few months I would already try to do something to get my money back. Not after 2,5 years.

Same here. Got it from the Fanatical Origins bundle from 28 October 2018.
Seems the publisher decided to withhold payment, and the keys were also being sold on grey market sites, so they simply decided to pull all keys. https://steamcommunity.com/app/402310/discussions/0/3068614788761423239/
They decided to revoke all keys without considering the legit customers, and now they want my personal email? Yea no. I'll give Fanatical the chance do their thing first. Also it's the Easter holidays, so they'll likely be out of office until tuesday.

This is what fanatical say:
https://support.fanatical.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018863437-Overfall-key-revoked-from-your-order
i ask refund or key i try fill form too.
This said country with law europe if you buy product and product is removed from you product must be refund it not matter what is reason behind remove, customer pay\buy product must have it,if there was problem between devs or stores or publishers is up to them, customer pay shop, shop must give product or refund what is paid.

Edit: We're not talking about Fanatical with the whole fraud situation, we're in fact in contact with them to make things easier for you guys.
Edit2: There is a misunderstanding about Fanatical because many of the keys that we sent were used for their bundles and deals. Fanatical was not among the "other fraud sites" that we mentioned before, we never blamed them - never will. After getting in contact, instead of making you fill the form (which was an immediate solution patch attempt to those who got their keys revoked), we decided to provide Fanatical all the keys that got revoked from their bundles, and they'll make sure you'll receive them in the near future. We're geniunely very sorry to have this happen to you guys and wanted to fix it as soon as possible.
Looks like the fanatical keys (as is mine) might be given back via fanatical ...

I wonder what they will do since I don't have my old fanatical account. I made a new one about a year ago due login problems. They deleted the old account with my consent. I bet they won't do shit about this.

It was here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/402310/discussions/0/3068614788761423239/
But it seems they are talking with Fanatical - and have removed the link to the google document for now.

I will just copy-paste my own post from steam game thread:
On the main game store page there is a link to the official game site:
http://overfallthegame.com/
but... this site is not working since February 2019.
After this time domain was captured and there was some poker advertisement displayed.
Whois info:
Expires On 2022-02-23
Registered On 2015-02-23
Updated On 2021-02-24
And now they're asking for a user mail and used steam serial code (page with google replacement form). Strange. Very strange.
Next: GDPR: They don't tell us where (EU? outside?) user email will be processed. Will be deleted after this or what?
Keep in mind, that to restore access to your Steam account you must show one from the used game keys + you must have an email used on this account too.
Now you're asked by the dev for those data? Looks very professional :BBcheckmark:
Why they wait more than 3 years with this? This looks very strange when it will be connected... with the dead from 2 years game www site.
If the situation was well known - why users wasn't NOTIFIED (keys will be revoked on date: xxxx, code replacement site: xxx) about this fact first? Why? There was enough time for that.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sounds indeed very strange. But don't you actually need to tell VALVE more than one activations on your account? And I also thought you need the last ones, that you have activated, but I'm not sure about that. Luckily I've never had a situation where I had to contact VALVE because of a stolen account

You're on a site where people can email you steam keys for the games you won, chill.

I hope none of you are using that google form, since apparently they want you to submit the key you used, and in the discussion thread on steam someone pointed out
Just a word of advice - DO NOT give out your email address and any activated CD-Keys to anyone. These are among identification criteria used to "recover" accounts - it would be like giving a stranger your bank account number and your mother's maiden name.
Comment has been collapsed.
Valve would most likely not accept a revoked key and your email to recover 'your' account. As far as I know you have to provide payment details of at least one transaction with Valve. I do agree that you should not share those details, but I think the danger that someone 'recovers' your account with a key and your email is very minor at best.

you definitely shouldn't use or post your steam email anywhere but still only it with a key will not be enough. I bet that at least 20% of my winners have the same email address on steam and SG so it would be bad if I would've enough information to get their accounts 😄
You won something from me I hope you're not part of this 20% ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I use for steam, of course, a other email adress as the one that i use at sg and that i use when i register at a site or contact a dev or publisher.
So, no problem in the end and if at the 2nd or 3rd mailadress come a higher ammount of spam mails, i delete it and create a other one.
That way are the important one save and without annoying newsletters, spam and so on.
Comment has been collapsed.
A friend of mine created his own mail server and chat client, and he specifically uses each email uniquely, so whenever he gets spam, he knows exactly what site was the bad egg. I also have a few alternates but definitely not enough for that kind of thing haha.

I'm doing the same, funny to see how sites are selling data thinking they get away with it; or getting their database stolen&sold and having no clue. For example I receive a massive amount of spam to the address I used for astats and yet when I check it on haveibeenpwned there's nothing, so... Anyway I just filter it out. ;-)

"you all will get your games back automatically"
That sounds horrible for people that gave away the game, since I neither want it activated on my account, nor do I want to have an unfulfilled giveaway, because of a shitty fiasco. Guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes.
Comment has been collapsed.
This is a big problem. But I think the keys will be automatically added to the shopping list on fanatical.
Anyway, I was able to contact the winner of my giveaway and ask him to agree to the deletion. It was much easier than waiting for something.

Me what bothers me the most is not the error but as the saying goes "to give is to give, to take back is to steal" whatever the reason for revoking keys like that just because it had the technical possibility is really not normal.
Comment has been collapsed.
Their last update is still shady.
Gathering Tree was listed 2 years ago in Overfall, 2+ years later they decide to revoke the keys AND remove themselves from the dev listing - this just seems like they are trying to get away with the bad rep of revoking as "Gathering Tree" has 2 upcoming games.

I got a key in a split or trade. good luck finding the guy who gave it to me again
Comment has been collapsed.
No, it actually isn't. No company would make such a bad PR prank, that could ruin their existence. Just a coincidence of when it happened.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, they didn't. Do You even read what's actually happened or just the title?
The Overfall dev has been robbed by publisher of unknown name. The pub asked for 30k keys and was going to pay post-sales. Pub sold the keys, gaining the money, but has never paid dev the money that he promised.
Dev didn't know where the keys have been sold to (because how could he know?) and now revoked the keys. It happened that many of those keys has been sold to Fanatical too. And You can be sure, Fanatical is not a scam site. Now they are discussing the problem with Fanatical to give the keys back to people.
Do You really think dev would like to give the keys to people AND have the bad PR at the same time, gaining nothing, just losing the trust? Who would have ever do that? And do You unironically think, Fanatical is a scam site too?
Dev has been deceived, cheated. And it affected Fanatical too. Instead of repeating fake news, maybe try to understand what happened, listening to explanations. And believe me, there could have been probably more scams like that, but we don't even know about them.
So basically, dev did nothing wrong. Fanatical did nothing wrong. They both were a victims of malicious actions of unknown person or company. The dev doesn't want to tell the name of them.
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually, it's clear now.

At first, I thought the account alert would be some April Fools joke, because I was using a coupon I won from Fanatical to buy games and I compared some prices, historical low, regular etc with current prices on Fanatical. Though I didn't have time at first to check it out. Though I eventually clicked that and was shocked. Huh? Do they make a joke like that? Though I ask sister if she got such message too. She didn't. I was thinking it's rather something bigger and prolly here there will be some kind of explanation to it. Heh, I was right.
Though, I hate people's attitude about this case. Blaming developer, assuming things without reading what they say, adding things to their message and creating conspiracy theories. Pathetic and abominable. Fortunatelly, I prefer to understand the situation first, instead of using hate speech on a matter I don't understand, like those people did. "They are thieves! Scams! They blame others!" etc. I understand that not everything was known from the beginning, but this is was makes me puke when I hear "human" word. They always HATE everything. Always. If there is an issue with a product their bought, they DON'T WANT a solution. They never do. All they want is to make a commotion, to hate, to argue, to blame and to insult. It's omnipresent. It doesn't really matter what's it about. Buying a Big Mac, keyboard or game. People always want to make problem bigger than it is. I've got through tons of product complaints and with just trying to understand the other party, I solve the problem WITH them. I didn't need to use obscene language to make me feel like I am so cool and awesome and they are trash. Especially that this kind of behavior would rather make You the trash in the eyes of others. If the solution is not possible, of course there is right to complain now and criticize. But do without insults and swear words. Can people be civilized, just for few minutes per day? Or are they always like some kind of wild dogs without any kind of law or order? Not to insult cute doggos.
And now, I can have peace in mind, because I know that this situation will be resolved soon. Win - win. Me not being mad AND getting the key back. Hurray! It's funny how easy it actually is.

I've just got a Steam pop-up (and apparently wasn't the only one) saying that the activated product code has been removed from my account. As further explanation it says "Your recent Product code activation has been revoked due to a problem processing payment for this item."
Here's a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/dXgiCYW.png
The game was part of Fanatical's 'Origins Bundle' and could also be purchased as part of Fantical's 'Staff Picks 2018 (Build your own bundle)'.
I had won the game here on Steamgifts and activated it the same day on 8th September 2019, 6pm. The developer made a post on the games community page on Steam:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/402310/discussions/0/3068614788761423239/
In that post they've linked a google form for you to fill out in order to claim a replacement key - if you still have the original key and know where you've bought it. [Warning: It is advised not to use that form as supplying the requested information has the potential to render your Steam account vulnerable to be claimed by third parties.]
In short it says "they were going to pay us after-sales. Unfortunately, we got scammed by them and couldn't receive payment."
Update 1:
Fanatical published a little statement on the issue: https://support.fanatical.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018863437
Update 2:
Another dev made a second statement (https://steamcommunity.com/app/402310/discussions/0/3068614788762142906/) about the issue and apparently they want to let fanatical replace those keys originally sold by them.
What the statement fails to address is what is going to happen with the data that people already have provided in their original Google form.
Update 3:
Fanatical have updated their blog post with part of it saying: "we have received new keys that we are in the process of sending you over the next couple of days."
Update 4:
According to an update from 6th April, 11:51 am to the Fanatical blog post about the issue, they are now in the process of replacing the keys and sate that the system will notify you via email once the new key is in place. They also clarify once again that this issue was caused by the wrongfully doing of the game's devs.
As for revoked keys from other shops - there's no info on that as far as I'm aware.
