I rated 1628 movies since 2016, these are the trashiest with a rating of 3 or lower. 🤬🤢😭

Easily the worst movie ever, especially when you watch it in the 90s on movie night as a teenager.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089491/
Plot is ok in theory, but it played out painfully slow, and then around 2/3 of the way through there's all of a sudden a random bathing scene with sexual overtones between the captain of the ship and the leader of the hijackers. Super cringe worthy movie, if you kept awake to that point.

I don't rate things there, too lazy for that. But i must say one of the worst movies i have seen recently was Mulan 2020 live action. Not really sure why i watched that movie, but i am glad i somehow skipped watching Lion King and Beauty & Beast live action :D

potentially you could at least get a laugh or get lost in the set pieces of some of these movies, but these are the ones that felt like they had nothing of value to offer or simply insult their audience, either how they represent real events and real people or generally how some hacks that despite the lack of values or experience or talent are still entitled to make 2h of garbage for you to pay for
Not to say i havent seen worse movies, believe it or not i did.

May I ask what you didn't like about Alien Covenant? I just like your input on movies.

that was so long ago and i barely remember the movie honestly. But i will try nonetheless

For one it retcons the, i wouldn't say better film, but the potential of Prometheus. That actually brought some cool ideas in, without much over exposition and convoluted plots. It's a somewhat simple film but open to interpretation and asks for a second viewing.

While Covenant explores way too many ideas, genres, cliches, and consequently lacks any sort of depth to its characters and stories.
It's practically a class on how to make Ridley Scott movie, where characters are reduced to their simple archetypes same as the movies you have seen before, acting as you seen before, going through situations you have seen before. they do, act, say whatever the script requires of them in order to move into the next event. The characters dont hold compared to Ripley and Kane. And make this world less interesting to explore.

For that reason, and for the ingenious idea of dividing different genres into parts it ends up lacking any feeling the director is aiming to come across. It starts as your typical alien movie but they have no time to fledge out the characters
then they are stranded in an alien planet, but we arent really lost exploring an unknown world. Its just "insert potentialy dangerous life form" here the movie.
Then there was a little horror, with the alien reveal, then drama involving David
Then there is sci fi with the destroyed civilization, that i wish could have been the movie.
Near the end there is a little action set piece.Something that Aliens does so much better anyway
Than ends like B-horror film, they even included the iconic shower scene, because you dont make B horror without referecing Psycho somewhere.
i personally was insulted that Ridley Scott believes that Alien is resumed by these little details. To me it felt like Ridley was at film school.

This is just my opinion, i like prometheus but i've seen the memes, i know that too, was a divisive and stupid film.
I even think Tenet is amazing, but it shares some similarities to the things i criticized in Covenant. It's all subjective i guess

Thanks. Yes, I was excited about Elizabeth and David's journey, then we barely see what happens. Scott gives us another "distress signal". It's a formula that keeps working.

The immortal wars. It's probably the most incompetently made movie I've ever seen; like they had a list of all the things not to do and did them anyway. The first hour and twenty minutes are unwatcheble and boring garbage.

But the most insulting part is the end actually starts to get interesting... breifly before retconning every single thing that actuallly happened in the movie and then turns out it was just setting up a franchise.

My friend made me watch this for his podcast (which isn't up anymore) and can say it's much worse than any asylum movie or animated titanic sequel.

Mad Max: Fury Road - I wouldn't name it worst myself, but can partly agree. I really disliked the fast forward effect. There are much more better ways of getting intensive and high action shots without resorting to such archaic method of bringing "life" to a movie. I don't get why people liked especially that - was it used in the original movie and people just liked having something from the old movie ?

I am glad they didn't use CGI (for the big stunts at least) , but the fast forward effect was horrible for me.... As far as story and cinematography goes, though, I think it's unfair to label it as "worst". Did you simply dislike it or have specific things you disliked in it to include in the list ?

I like action flicks but couldn't enjoy Fury Road. It felt to me like seeing the same thing over and over again: jumping from car to car and explosions. It felt repetitive and boring, and while the plot was literally let's go to the place B for the first part of the movie, and then let's go back to the place A for the rest of the movie there was nothing left for me to enjoy. Generally it felt like a bad b-movie and the guitar-guy scene was the pick of the silliness. I burst into uncontrollable laughter as the only person in the whole cinema :P The visuals were stunning though.

A friend said to me there are 2 types of silly movies. First type wears pants on their head and is self-aware of that and even winks at the audience that it has pants on their head. The second type also wears pants on their head but has no idea that it has pants on their head. And Fury Road was the second type to me :)

I hear you :') That's one of the reasons I don't even watch TV nowadays. I've watched Naked Gun 33 1/3 on Netflix not so long ago. It's still available there, at least in Poland.

I remember I used to like this movie as a kid/teenager but nowadays it felt so bad :P Maybe the humor got old. Or maybe the fact that I do comedy myself for a living makes me more demanding and less things seem funny to me. Or both :P

I don't watch a lot of films, so it's hard to say. There're a lot of films I've found bad : Transformers, Black Panthers (and other MCU films), recently RRRrrrr!!! (french comedy, very disappointing), but I know there're some I couldn't watch to the end. The thing is...I don't remember the names.

There's some movies you can't even start to watch, you just need to look the cover, or start looking the ambience & picture., so I don't feel those movies should count, there's a ton of low budget films, most of them bad, but I'm always surprised about Australian low budget films, I recently watched "Goldstone" (2016) and It was ok.

Answering your question, I feel like most of the Marvel films are highly overrated, but hey that's just me.

I grew up with fast and furious movies and those probably influenced my passion for cars so I can't objectively rate them on quality...

But I tried to watch some kind of spinoff from fast and furious with rock and whatnot...... damn, I switched the movie off after first scene, I don't know what it was and I don't intend to find out. Just horrible.. And I can count on one hand how many times I've switched off a movie completly.

I've tried piecing together why that movie managed to stick in my mind as a terrible film above other awful ones a few times and I keep finding ways in which it's broken from a narrative point of view, not sure how they managed to make such a mess tho.

I had so many people recommend this to me, and people who knew me pretty well, too, including my best friend, who's basically me with a full set of emotions. I don't think I would be quite so bitter about having watched it, had it not been THREE HOURS. Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it gets extra points because of how much of my life it wasted.

I checked out Ready Player One on a flight to Vancouver one time; I would've been playing something on my laptop, but the TSA stole it (not confiscated; long story), so since what I call Jetflix was free on this 5-hour flight, I settled on that. How do you try to make a movie about video games and wind up making a movie about '80s pop culture references instead?
